Fire in upper NW?

Sounds like a mob hit.

The other housekeeper lived in the home with the family. I think that housekeeper had something to do with it. I think she also texted the housekeeper from the wife's phone.

What makes you assume that? Why would you automatically blame the housekeeper? I mean you might be correct, but statistically, it's familicide is almost always committed by a man - the father or boyfriend. I think it's the only growing murder type in America today.

No matter what, it's a very strange story. It's funny, I don't think I know anyone with two housekeepers - including CEOs of Fortune 100s. It just seems like a lot of strangers to have around your house all day - and night.

From Fox News: "A housekeeper who has worked for the family for 20 years told FOX 5's Marina Marraco that she was at the home on Wednesday. She said the couple, their 10-year-old son and another housekeeper slept in the home that night. The housekeeper received a text message Thursday morning from the mother and told her to not come by the home because the family was sick. When she called to respond to the text message, the phone call was not picked up."
Some kind of hostage situation? And wife was warning the housekeeper away?

Certainly sounds that way.

Fox 5 also reported that the Porsche was found in Maryland. American Iron Works is in Maryland...wonder if murders were work related?

I would think there are many surveillance cameras around their home.

My first thought was how similar it is to the Annapolis fire around Christmas. An entire family tragically killed.

Or whoever killed them sent the message to the housekeeper.

The husband and wife are a good looking couple. One article I read said the husband just accepted a job offer in Puerto Rico.

Doesn't really matter how affluent you might be, something like this is horrible. And the low class press calling both sides of the family asking to name the dead are just ghouls. Both fathers of the couple said they haven't been told anything yet and they were too distraught to speak.

Not right at all.

They were a totally normal, albeit rich, family like many others in NWDC. Kids in local privates and boarding. Parents happily married. Very social. Dad was a CEO of a local company. They both sat on some boards, I believe the reference to a company in Puerto Rico was a new board position, not a "job" per se. . Basically super nice people. Nothing shady or weird. The whole thing is shocking.

I am betting it was, most likely, a home invasion. Fire started to cover up other crimes. We live relatively close to them, in NWDC as well, and my kids are really blasé about locking doors. I tell them all the time that this is a dangerous habit. Home invasions happen and there were several just a few years ago in CCMD and one in Palisades/Berkley area. They are not always about burglary.

Savvas Savopoulos is listed on the company Web site as president of American Iron Works, a Hyattsville-based company that manufactures building materials. His Facebook page says that he is the head of Sigma Investment Strategies, a hedge fund and management company, and that he had recently accepted a job in Puerto Rico.

Can someone confirm that the car was found at the husband's job? That would really thicken the plot.

I've only heard that the car was found in Maryland. The police have really been cagey about details -- I mean, if you wanted people to help out, you would tell us WHAT part of Maryland the car was found in, at least the county.

I really don't understand why there aren't more details coming out on this car.
