How to Tell the Good Kids from Bad

Most of the children I know in this neighborhood, regardless of SES, are wonderful. Unless you're going private for elementary, you better get used to your kid being around brown people.

As a "brown" (Latino) person, i beg you to stop using this expression. We are individuals, not defined by our group ethnicity and much less by our skin color.

Don't be so naive

I embarrassed for everyone who didn't spot this as a piss-poor troll job.

Apologies. I used the phrase "brown people" because that is what OP (troll or not) was getting at.

I love how people try to pretend as though many upper class folks don't think this way.

Think what way? Like a troll? Or are you trying to call upper class racist?

+1, but who are the folks buying $700k+ homes in that crime ridden neighborhood?

We have 4 newborns within a block of our house that lives in homes that cost over 700K.if you look at the citrus sticks the median household income is something like 37K, but oh my, that is changing very very quickly.

Ha ha…oh, autocorrect! I meant "demographic statistics", not citrus sticks.

Two people with good jobs is not High SES, it's really middle class in this area. High SES folks can afford good private schools and do NOT live in transitional neighborhoods. DC transplants love to themselves this when they are really middle class. Especially in this area. One job away from the poor does not equate HIGH SES.

She said higher SES not high SES. Higher as in higher than lower. Anyway, I don't think she's a troll. I do think she's an idiot (as I'm watching a news report about a white Fairfax govt employee being arrested for child porn followed by a white karate instructor in Bethesda for the same thing). Lady, you have a lot more to worry about than "bad" kids.

OP, I don't know how old your kids are, but if they're young enough, you'll get to know the families through playdates. Get to know the parents yourself. I never allowed my child to sleep over at the home of parents I hadn't met. I also had his friends over a lot and got to meet their parents.

More importantly, I had many, many conversations with my child about the fact that there are some bad kids and that those are the people he needed to stay away from. He avoided them like the plaque.
Dental or arterial? Both are bad. Plaques for service or achievements are good, and should be a sought-after goal.
