Britt McHenry tirade to towing company employee

BM is making no where near a million. She's under 200k.

For the very best talent, ESPN does pay well, but ESPN is known not to pay 'replaceable' talent market rates because they are in a position of strength.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if no woman anchor at ESPN is making a million.

Britt makes less than 100K. Probably less than 80K.

This. People who quote higher do not work in news journalism.

Uh...that check is not making 6 figures, especially at ESPN.

There are news people that work in DC that make six figures. Meaning, the local news channels.

According to the Washingtonian article from a few years back, Jim Vance makes $1.3MM, and Meteorologist Bob Ryan makes 600K.

I doubt Britt McHenry makes $1M, but seriously doubt she makes 70K. I'd guess between $150-300K with plenty of opportunities to make appearance fees.

Agreed 100%...sure, I've caught myself dropping the f bomb before to a Comcast rep (or someone in similar position) but then I catch myself and apologize as I know they're just doing their job and I'm incredibly frustrated by the situation. You catch more flies with honey anyway

i got the run around at sprint for months and completely went off on this poor kid. i apologized in writing and over the phone. i get the frustration, i truly do but i would never tear someone down on a personal level. her behavior is disgusting.

If thatwas indeed the cse, I probably wouldn't have gotten as personal with the clerk, but I would have come in there with a full head of steam myself.

The parking lot behind Hunan One is not dedicated to Hunan One -- there are spaces that are not assigned to the restaurant. She probably didn't see that.

This tow company is notorious for towing people who are legally parked, I wouldn't assume she was parked improperly.

I think they are separate issues- I would be livid and maybe a confrontational a-hole (although its not generally my nature and I tend to get a LOT of what I want by being kind and logical right out of the gate-no one wants to feel strong armed, they tend to fight back then even when they don't care) BUT I would never ever say things like this to a person because I think its inhumane. You can be angry, and in the right and even confrontational and still NOT do any of this. I don't see any excuse for it, ever.

I never liked her when she was on local tv.... she just didn't seem professional. Now, I guess the world can see that too.

She took it way too far. The clerk has NOTHING to do with selecting cars that get towed. The type of insults she choose (re weight, education, teeth, etc) are totally irrelevant to being mad about her car. You don't treat people that way, it says a lot about someone's character, or lack thereof, by how they treat the people who are basically in menial jobs. I understand being upset, and I have had my car towed too and it sucks, but going apeshit and talking like you're in the movie Heathers to the clerk is just beyond gross and horrible.

BTW the internet has picked up on other instances of McHenry degrading people for not being "pretty", etc, such as on twitter and instagram. So I don't buy her heat of the moment brouhaha.

where? I just did a search and can't find any other instances of her degrading others.

Yes. I'm VERY nice, but firm. You have to be because otherwise, nice people get taken advantage of. I'm friendly and sweet and had to learn this the hard way. I don't leave or hang up until I've gotten what I need. But I'm not rude about it.

I agree. She used to drive me nuts - used to make a lot of mistakes, and just seemed YOUNG. She would always make jokes that weren't funny.

I live on the street where she was towed.

That tow company is a bunch if a-hole crooks. They have nearly run over my kids in numerous occasions. They illegally speed out the 'dead end'/no way out' end of our street. They also hook cars at Walgreens and go barreling up and down our residential street WAY over the speed limit.

I didn't know who Britt was prior to this--but I agree that towing company is crooked a-holes.
