Anyone cycling right now? IVF

I'm getting really frustrated you guys! Though my levels are going up, I'm responding very slow :/ so guess we have about 6 follicles to work with and I need to continue stimming. I have been stimming for 10 days and will continue until at least Monday. I'm getting discouraged. I feel I am not responding as well as the past two cycles. Up to 225 Bravelle and 150 Menopur

Hang in there, Annie. I think I did 11 days the first round myself.
Tat, how'd it go? Good luck tomorrow, Dot!

How's everyone else doing? I kept myself busy in a training all weekend. I'm trying to hold out til Thursday...but I will probably POAS Wednesday morning.

Hi all- it's Kay. We had 8 mature eggs and 6 fertilized. We are at day 3 now and I got the report. Once arrested, so we are down to 5. I have 2 10-cell embryos and 4 7-cell embryos. On Vmail, My nurse said they look for 8, so does that mean they are all rubbish? This is our first IVF and it was converted from an IUI, so I never had time to research these terms.

Kay~ it doesn't necessarily mean they are all rubbish. You may have some slow ones there, they may catch up

How is everyone else doing? Sending you all the best of luck!!!!

Good luck with your ER on Wednesday, Annie!

I'm on day 10 and still waiting for a retrieval date. One of my ovaries didn't cooperate and didn't produce any eggs this cycle so I only have 5. I'm really disappointed bec, it's my last round before I lose my awesome insurance and I was hoping to do pgs testing but it won't be worth the out of pocket expense if I only have a couple embryos to send. Meeting with my dr tomm to discuss options, but I had a meltdown at my ultrasound today. They changed my drugs this round so maybe that's why it's my worst out of 3 rounds? It's hard when you have no control over how your body reacts to the meds, I wish they could have changed my drugs or something to get the other ovary stemming. Ugh. ~Kelly

Kay here - they let them rest, so I go in for ET tomorrow if there is something to transfer. I'm nervous I'll get there and they will say that there is nothing to do or that they call in the AM. It's at 9:15.

Good luck Annie! I hope they retrieve lots of mature eggs! Sending good thoughts your way!

I'm sorry Kelly. Maybe these will be the only ones you need. My sister had only 5 or 6 ever and she got her BFP. Quality over quantity. What are the follicle sizes, if you don't mind me asking?

Dot here.

We are at 14 fertilized @ Day 1. Fingers crossed that they make it through the week so they can send samples out to the lab.

Emma here -- I'm feeling really discouraged. Today is Day 8 of stims for me. My estrogen level raised slightly but they could only find three measurable follies and all three are still pretty small. I'm responding very slowly and it looks like I have several more days of stimming ahead -- and there's still a chance that they could cancel this cycle. Also, the doctor couldn't find my left ovary today! I kid you not. She had me put pressure on my stomach and she still couldn't find it. Not a good sign. If they cancel this cycle, I don't know what other options we're left with as they warned me before I started this cycle that if it didn't go well, they would consider kicking me out of the shared risk program. I'm so worried and just really down right now.

Kelly - I feel your pain but as you know, it's quality over quantity. Let's try our best to stay positive! Easier said than done, I know...
Kay - good luck with your ET tomorrow!
Dot - 14! That's great! Keep us posted on the outcome.

My biggest two are measuring 20 so we're stemming one more day and will retrieve on Friday. I'm thinking about biopsying whatever I get and freezing them for testing later. I have one more month of insurance so my dr is suggesting we do another fresh round next month and have two cycles to test. That means waiting to get new insurance in place and IVF approved again before I can do a frozen transfer. I have two frozen now that I was planning to transfer next month if this round didn't go wel so now I don't know what way ill go. Just wish this was a more productive round! Emma stay positive. My last round I stemmed for 17 days and ended up with 11 eggs so slow isn't always bad. Kay I remember being paranoid about that phone call my first round and never got it so try not to worry. ~Kelly

Sue here. I'm out, BFN for IVF No. 2.

I may be done. I read here (which was, weirdly enough, posted on the CCRM thread) http://www.self.com/life/health/2010/08/breaking-the-silence-on-infertility/ that people often quit after two cycles, even if they still have insurance. I may be one of them. We have insurance coverage for a third round, and we've hit our deductible for the year already, so I hate to leave money on the table. But we've been trying for two years and I dread the emotional/life upheaval of another cycle. I'll be 42 in three months, and I've always sort of set that as my ending point.

I go in for the official blood test tomorrow morning, and then have jury duty. Blech.

Good luck everyone! I'm pulling for all of you!

Sue, thanks for asking, I actually had very similar results as Kay, I had 8 retrieved, 6 fertilized. On day 3 I had, 1-3 cell, 2-6 cell, 1-7 cell,1 -8 cell, and 1 -12 cell. So basically only 5 still in the running, and 1 out of the ideal range. I've read both good and bad things about 12 cells on day 3, so I'm just hoping for good news today (day 5). Anyone else have experience with 6 cells and 12 cells on day 3? - Tat

Sue, I'm sorry, I must have been typing as you were posting.

I'm sorry to hear you got bad news. Having gone through 2 unsuccessful IUIs and 2 unsuccessful IVFs myself (currently on 3rd) I know how you feel. I too have wonderful insurance which definitely helps. I have low AMH, so last two IVFS I only had 2 make it to day 5 and transfer. After each one, my husband and I have said "no more", but here we are again, hoping for a better outcome. I'm so sorry, but give you self some time before you decide to throw in the towel. -tat
