Kelly Miller retains Wilson access, too. Great, so the problems all remain.

exactly. and it is all based on political favors, thanks for voting for me, she says. instead of making a cohesive plan for the whole city.

So, there is no hope to relieve overcrowding at Deal and Wilson before 2022? Great plan!

No. The Gray plan reassigned them from Eastern (on Cap Hill) to Woodson (EOTR). They now retain the option to attend Eastern. This has nothing to do with Wilson.

Now discussing a new charter board nominee.

Maybe if the whole city actively participate in local elections history wouldn't repeat itself over and over and over again. Why is anyone surprised by this? Take a look at the election results.

Incorrect. They have the choice of Wilson or Eastern.

Asked to elaborate on tweaks. Two main changes. First, any changes in MS assignments are grandfathered until 2022. So it is not just Crestwood. Anyone who was reassigned to another MS gets to stay at the old assigned MS.

You may be right. Bowser said Wilson. But in answering a question said dual rights to Woodson and Eastern.

And second, the Miller MS maintaining access to Eastern, although she phrased it more broadly, as maintaining across the river access.

This would presumably apply to Eaton?

If you are familiar with the boundaries and you know where Miller is on a map (Ward 7), then it is obvious that this has nothing to do with Wilson. Not trying to be difficult with you here, but we are talking about a Ward 7 EOTR school that never had anything to do with Wilson. This particular change probably does not affect very many DCUM denizens.

Is she really allowed to do that? Isn't expansion of the grandfather period like that a substantive change that needs to be announced a year in advance? Otherwise, she could just change the plan willy-nilly whenever she wants simply by calling any changes a targeted set of grandfather tweaks.

Need input from someone who knows the regs better.
