NP here. Still think it was a bad call? All you Bowser bashers should give the lady a break. She's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't; and she's been in office for less than 2 months. Don't we all want a better District of Columbia?

Yes -- terrible call. The snow was no obstacle whatsoever and the streets and sidewalks are passable. It's not even terribly cold. Better than a cancelled day I guess. My kids benefit from school and their projects and work are interupted by needless cancellations. They're not alone, although they eat on time whether in school or out. Just don't see the benefit of the 2 hours, where if anything there was more snow by 10am than at 8am (like 2" of light snow vs. 1")

This is the first time that the streets have been cleared and passable in a reasonable amount of time. If schools had opened on time it would have been a mess.

Not to mention all the teachers and other school employees in live in surrounding areas where there is more snow and they have to take care of their own children first.
