If you are requesting sibling preference you need it. |
| I submitted! May make minor tweaks but mostly done. |
I was told by someone at myschoolsdc before the lottery started that they want it, but it's not strictly necessary to have it. I think they may have said it's the same as your DC ONE card number (we don't have one, so I wasn't paying that much attention). I submitted my app without the student ID, so it seems like it's not required. It seems awkward to ask your current school for your child's ID# if you're trying to get out... |
You also need your student ID number to set up a My Lunch Money account. We had to get ours from our school. If you are looking for an excuse you could use that. |
| Charters don't have my lunch money account. I have confirmed with My Schools, ID is not required even for sibling. Schools confirm sibling preference. |
I have a first grader and needed his student ID# to enroll our PK3 child. |
| To enroll maybe, but not for lottery. |
| Just send an email to info@myschooldc.org with your child's name, date of birth, and school, and they will quickly reply with the student ID number. Otherwise, they will need to look it up for you after the application deadline, which will just cause a whole lot of work then for you. I'd rather have people ask them to look it up now so they spend less time in March having to update that stuff and can get us our results faster. The ID # is only not needed if you are brand new to DCPS/charters. |
Sorry, that should read it will cause "a whole lot of work after the deadline for THEM." They will have to look it up and enter it into the system after the deadline. |
| If you submit can you make changes later? |
The system generated a red error message for my older child's student ID#. It would not let me submit without that information. |
Yes, you basically void your prior application and then make changes and resubmit. |
I don't think you void anything. You just unsubmit your application, make the changes and then resubmit the same thing. Void is a strong term. |
You are weird. You void the application in that if you don't submit a new one, then you haven't applied. |
void makes it sound like you are completely removing the application |
