Does ISIS have a right to be pissed off?

Also note the figures during the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld administration compared to the numbers during the Obama administration.

And the Obama administration got as the hell out of there.

Now, some have argued that leaving Iraq causes the ISIS situation. I would propose that being in there and killing hundreds of thousands of civilians under bullshit WMD and terrorism pretexts is why we are in the current situation.

In three pages, the killing that ISIS does is deplorable. The much greater killing the US does is perfectly ok.

You are truly the meeting of the dumbasses.

New Poster.

I can't tell, but it seems both the PP and the poster who put up the graphs take the position that the thousands of civilain deaths in Iraq are caused by the United States.

That is some pretty shallow thinking. That interpretation of those graphs would lead one to think the US was killing the civilians as part of a battle strategy. While there are certainly many instances of truly innocent collateral deaths, the huge majority of people killed by direct US military action (being bombed, droned, shot with a rifle) were bad guys. They were Iraqis who were trying to kill other Iraqis. Many hundreds of Iraqi dead were killed by terrorist scum using IEDs and suicide bombers. You can't blame Iraqi sectarian violence on the US. (well I guess a bunch of DCUM crazy progressives can...because after all George Bush started the war). But for the rational people, you can't put those deaths on the Unitied States.

We spent years of time and billions of dollars trying to stabilize the country. It was relatively stable in 2011. We managed to screw that up. But hey...ISIS is just a "JV" terrorist organization. No biggie that they are cutting the heads off Americans now. I guess that is a "JV" move too.

To the OP's question, my answer is, "Who gives a crap if they have a "right" to be pissed off "? I think they have now earned the "right" to be bombed into extinction.

ISIS does not represent Iraq so I don't know how you come up with the crap that they have the right to be pissed off by what the US did to the Iraqis.

Iraq had no WMD. Having said that, Saddam WAS an evil dictator who did kill thousands if not millions of his own people. The reason Iraq was stable under Saddam was not because of peace and love, but because sources of instability were eradicated at birth.

Re: sectarian violence - that was inevitable once the oppressed Shia majority of Iraq demanded access to government positions. Living under the Shia-majority rule, whether the Shia make up the majority of the populace or not, is simply not in the DNA of the Sunnis. The Sunni attitude toward the Shia is "submit or die." It was the pinnacle of the US naivete to think that the Saudi money-infused Middle East would tolerate the Shias' ascent to power.

PS: The story of the al-Maliki's sectarianism is pure bullshit financed by the Saudi PR machine. For the Saudis to accuse other countries of sectarianism is the height of hypocrisy. The percentage of Sunnis in the Iraqi cabinet was in excess of their percentage in the population.

09:50 here. No one likes killing by the US. However, you have no idea what you're talking about. The US' killings are in war, while ISIS' killings are of genocidal nature. If the US was not engaged in a war, which in my opinion should not have happened, there would be no killing by them, as the US has no animosity towards the people of Iraq. ISIS, however, has animosity towards many innocent people in Iraq, and has killed many barbarically.

Isis and it's predecessor groups did not exist as an entity until 2003. We caused this. That does not excuse their actions but we still caused them to form.
Anonymous
No..they made a choice to form. They caused it.
Anonymous
I don’t care the “cause” of their formation. They need to be stopped. We have waited too long already.

Hundreds of thousands of civilians died in the Iraq war. One American journalist dies and ISIS is a bunch of bloodthirsty murderers.

No wonder the world hates us.

Then douchebags in this country go to church and pat each other in the back about how we are the shining beacon of freedom around the world.

Bullshit. The US kills for its geopolitical interests in a scale that is impossible to match by anyone in the world.

In the eyes of many in the world, we are the bloodthirsty murderers and that view is often warranted, no matter how you want to justify the suffering we cause around the world.

I know this will turn upside down your Pollyannaish view of the world. Suck it dumbasses.

Imagine if Iraq invaded the US and killed 100,000 US civilians here to achieve their political purposes.

Most of you would first piss your pants and then drop dead from a heart attack from the consternation.

Was that why we fought the Iraq war?

Not according to George "mission accomplished" Bush and his buddy Tony Blair.

Don't lie, Iraqi Shias died on a much greater scale. Iraq isn't a country of "Iraqi Sunnis". It belongs to all Iraqis.
