Does ISIS have a right to be pissed off?

It would be difficult to imagine that Hussein killed as many people as we did in Iraq. I'd like to see you try to add those numbers up.

Holy uniformed Batman!!

Estimates of deaths during Saddam's regime:

Kurds: 50,000-200,000
1991 rebellion: 25,000-250,000
Total during 30 year regime: 250,000-500,000

Estimates of deaths during Iraq War:

Total war, surge and occupation: 500,000-1,200,000

But how many of the people that were killed in the occupation were killed by insurgents/terrorists vs. Americans?

Our soldiers spent a great deal of time defending local populations

Well let me explain something to you cowardice fools who think you are so tough behind all your propaganda videos. You are scaring a population that doesn’t know how to fight, you’re bullying the weak.

You say Islam is the religion of peace, but since when does terrorizing the innocent and beheading men, women and children constitute peace? WTF? But keep in mind, what did Saddam’s troops do when we came rolling into town? They surrendered, twice… So all your empty threats of coming to America and raising your flag over the White House amuse me more than any of you sick, sadistic bastards could ever imagine or comprehend.

In 2012 there was about 21.2 million veterans in the United States. Do you understand what that means? Let me break it down for you. That means there are literally millions of disgruntled, dysfunctional, pissed off veterans who have been dealing with years of abuse from their government stabbing them in the backs and having to watch their friends die because you Islamic extremist idiots can’t seem to act like normal human beings and stop terrorism and the violence.

It’s one thing to take over an Islamic state, but if my memory serves me correctly, I’m pretty sure we plowed through Fallujah in 4 days. Better yet, it took us about month to control your entire country. At this point, with 13+ years of war under our belts, how long do you think it would take us to do it all over again? I’ll let you draw your own conclusions on that one. Do you really think you stand a chance on US soil? Do you really think it would be smart to poke that bear? Remember, never bite the hand that feeds you.

Remember we are armed to the teeth in the US and I can promise you this… the Geneva Conventions will not apply to you. You attack us and there will be no mercy. We will bring the righteous hand of God down upon you and crush you. The ball is in your court now ISIS. We are more than ready to arrange your so called “meeting” with your 72 virgins and send you to your “prophet” Mohamed.”

I wish this guy were President. Less golf, less 'hope', more action. Kickass would be a better President.

This is the stupid thinking and policy that, not only didn't solve any problems in the Middle East, but instead created the ISIS movement where it had not existed.

Endless war does not solve any problems. It always creates more. "Mission Accomplished?"

You say we entered the gulf war because of Saddam. You conveniently forget that Sadam was installed as the Iraqi leader by Western nations hungry for the cheap oil gushing from Iraq. Just like al-Maliki and now al-Nouri. That's what we did with the Shah in Iran until the fundamentalists got sick of their leader working in the interest of the West.

US soldiers may be brave and great at killing. They are not great at assessing a geopolitical situation.

Since you clearly feel you know everything, you should know better than to refer to a U.S. Marine as a soldier. Marines are not soldiers, they are Marines. Soldiers are U.S. Army.

I guess the semantics are the only things you can respond to.

Would you mind responding to the substance of their argument, please? Because this makes it sound like you don't actually have a substantial response.

The president loves his Marines when he needs them, the rest of the time he spends wishing the military didn't have to exist. Unfortunately, I think he plots his foreign policy by that hope and finds himself constantly surprised to actually need the military.

Behind every blade of grass, baby. After ISIS refuses your friendship, he and his fellow soldiers are all you have. Well, them, and all the armed citizens you hate now.

And the sad thing? Any soldier (well, not Bergdahl), would lay down his life for the President
