| Bump. How's it going OP? |

Op, try the 30 day shred video on top of your dietary changes. I started a few days ago and am already slimming up and getting new definition. The workouts are 20 mins long and can be added to any schedule. This was after going paleo about two weeks ago (but still drinking wine and champagne on weeks D's, which I typically have to cut out entirely to lose any weight. )
As for bathroom issues, that is really normal when you switch your diet. Drink tons and tons of water - 12 glasses a day min. Yoga and other core- intensive exercise will help with digestion and keeping things moving. You can do a class online via you tube, but in person you'll get more out of it. I have had the best results with Shiva Rhea. How are your abs? I am un-toned from two babies back to back and also developed a thyroid condition with the last baby. I thought the bathroom difficulties I was having were due to childbirth and the endocrine issues, but as my core has started to tighten things are really different. You can also try those "slimming" teas in moderation to jump start things. I have really struggled to get back into shape but with the above changes have dropped 5 lbs without trying and depression is lifting. Clothes are fitting well again, and I am actually feeling sexy for the first time in two years. Doing remarkable things for our home life. Good luck and keep us posted!!! |
| NP here. I've been on a paleo-inspired diet now for two weeks and I'm a converted believer. I am losing weight quickly without feeling deprived or hungry, and my tummy issues are gone. I used to think my tummy hurt because of the <fill in the blank> vegetable or bean I ate, but I am starting to realize it was from all the grains and starches I was eating. I cheated a little bit last weekend and had some chips and paid for it with a tummy ache. Raw onions, green peppers, broccoli. No problem. |
| NP here. I went Paleo in February of 2013 and between then and October of 2013, lost 80 pounds!!!! I look and feel amazing! I have since switched to Primal to maintain. Have actually lost another 5 since October... |

OP, how's it going?
|
| Yeah OP! Be honest -- it's OK if it didn't work or you couldn't keep the diet and weight loss going, but let us know!! |

Not OP, but I was inspired by this discussion to start paleo. I had great success in the beginning, but after awhile success slowed and I even felt like I had gained some back. I think I was overdoing it with protein and fat portions, but have been good at avoiding grains and the other stuff (with some cheating).
I think that the Well Fed books have the best advice I've seen on controlling portions and what to eat in between meals. I interpret it as calling for eating 8 cups of vegetables and 12-16 oz of protein a day. It is difficult to keep up with having that many vegetables and that much protein around and ready to eat. Well Fed outlines what I think is a great strategy for dealing with that. It's been about a week since I recommitted, but I'm starting to feel like I'm back on track. I do feel better. I am finding that I'm recovering a lot faster after workouts. |
