How "rich" are you - or not?

For me it is reassuring (we are in the lower range) to know that some people are doing the same or a little less than us - I know, of course, that there are always going to be some who are doing more............

nope, not rich. and I hate this frickin' website because everyone here seems to be rich.
It seems like everyone is making high six figures and has mortgages less than mine -- except the person with the 17K per month mortgage. I am so pissed I am too young to have bought a house before the market went nuts.
Alright, done feeling sorry for myself. I need to spend less time on this skewed website.

I think the people with lower (by which I mean middle class) incomes are too intimidated to post here!

I was thinking the opposite -- they are too secure to want to post....

So says a priest whose personal bank account is at the end of the collection plate.

I just thought this is one of those things that people don't talk about and since this board is anonymous - we could see what others are doing. From this very limited response - I actually feel good seeing what a wide range of situations people are in and while some are a lot lower in net worth than others - the respondents seem to be posting because they feel secure about how they are handling their personal situation. I think almost all of us would love to have more - esp. when we hear about these few who seemingly have a lot in savings, equity etc. But when someone with a high net-worth posts - why do we have to attack them and assume they are not "happY' or whatever. Can you only be poor and humble and happy?

I think the OP must be the healthiest person on DCUM.

I was one of the allegedly "high" net-worth posters earlier on this thread. I posted because I wanted people to see that even with a high HHI you could still make stupid mistakes and lose a lot of your net worth by having too aggressive of a portfolio or running your cards without paying attention. It can happen to anyone.

Hi. I referred to myself as "65K lady" in another thread. I'm the one with 56% of my take-home going to keeping a roof over my head. This is one of the reasons I decided to post. I know I'm not the only one out here.

You can't just dismiss the people who object to this thread as being jealous of people who are wealthier, or insecure, or something. That's stupid, and bad logic. We've explained, but you don't want to hear it. Please stop wasting our time by miscasting our arguments.

No, you should see her nasty posts on the "Why doesn't the AD pay attention to me" website. Seriously manipulative and mean.
