how much do you spend on clothing/shoes for you per month?

I spend 200-300 dollars a month. That includes tights shoes etc. it feels like it goes very fast and I think I buy clothes that are pretty cheap. My weight fluctuates a lot though - from size 8 to 16 - and it's hard to keep up and with two pregnancies in addition to the weight fluctuations it feels like I always need something.

Her income is more than 25x yours so if you do the math you would be spending somewhere around $10k per month compared to her $5k-$8k per month. I son't see the problem.

Do we think these clothes magically appear? No. The people buying them support jobs and textile companies, etc. I really don't understand why people can't exchange their money for someone else's hard work. Seems like a wonderful exchange.

I think the $5K poster with a HHI of $200K is much more irresponsible than the $8K/month poster making Fort Knox money.

$2K/year is ok. You both need a new suit or new formal dress every few years, probably need new dress shoes and new athletic shoes, etc., every year or two, and other stuff here and there. Much more than that sounds insane to me.

About $5k/yr for myself, another $2k/yr for DH and two kids. HHI about $375k.

HHI 215k. Averaged out, I probably spend about $750/month on clothes and shoes. I get tired of looking at the same things in my closet, so I give away tons every year.

Roughly $700 a year. I shop twice a year and spend about $350 each time. I hate shopping, trying on things depresses me, and I am generally baffled by "fashion."

Some years it's way less than that because I don't find anything on one of my shopping trips.

This month I spent $3k but I hadn't bought much for a few months. I tend to do a Spring spree and Fall/Winter spree. I also buy 1-2 nice bags per year.

Yeah, when I said I have a mtg payment of $6K/month on $300K HHI, people here thought I was insane. Well, I certainly don't spend more than $1K total for my whole family on clothes a year. Explains a lot.

How do you do that? Just buying each child and adult two pairs of cheap shoes a year uses 1/3 of that budget.
