| I liked your second pair the best. I like Born shoes too. The "old lady" wide straps are coming back in you haters. |
God NO!!! Those are fugly!!! They looked nothing like that. |
|
The first pair is definitely old lady-ish.
If you're open to a wedge with a bit of a heel, the Ralph Lauren Cecilia style are very comfortable and come in multiple colors. I have 3 pairs of them. |
Those look old ladyish too. Like a Republican old lady at a golf course restaurant. In South Carolina. |
NP here. From your description, the image PP posted was EXACTLY what I thought of too. |
| This thread is soooo funny. Keep it up guys. |
|
I'm your age...your 3 posts look just like the shoes my mom wears.
She's 65. Sometimes I pick up a shoe and for a split second think "comfy!" And then stop myself... |
Maybe you shouldn't stop yourself. Or at least find comfy shoes that are a bit more stylish than what OP posted. I saw my grandmothers feet and what she did to them. I see my MIL and SIL and their feet and what they do to them. My MIL feet are pretty much deformed from wearing trendy shoes. My mother had to have foot surgery for bunions. I am a person who appreciates a beautiful and well designed pair of shoes, but who will never wear them because of what I have seen. I wish I could wear them sometimes, but my feet are in quite a bit of pain when I do try. So I listen to them and don't. |
| So anything which is not 5" uncomfy stilettos is old lady ish? |
|
Maybe these could be a good middleground.

| OP, what are you planning on wearing these sandals with? |
OP here. Okay, ladies, thanks for all the input. As I specified, I am a teacher. A Kindergarten teacher. I will be moving in whatever sandals I buy ALL day... and I usually have 12 hour days, all told. I will NOT be sitting at a desk. I will not be glancing down at my feet, admiring my chic heels, and patting myself on the back at my impeccable "young" fashion sense. I will NOT be tolerating pain during my day. I think you'd rather have my mind be on your children than on my barking dogs, right? So any more suggestions for something actually wearable for my life before I go ahead and bite the bullet? PP, I like the Kork Ease sandals (the gold ones), but generally don't (and can't) pay over $100 for a pair of shoes. |
| I like the first pair but not the second. I don't think the first pair is old laddish, and I'm 36. Shop at nordstrom, Neimans, j crew, not old lady dept. |
I am the one who posted the Kork ease links. I know they are expensive, but I can say they will last a long time. Mine have at least. I have a pair that I wear quite often and I am on year 3 or 4 with them. |
