Are these "old lady-ish"?

There is an old woman from my church who I pictured when I saw them and you just described accurately.

Eh, they are something my sister would wear and she wears cargo capris.

Go on anthropologie.com. They have a lot of cute stuff up now.

OP here. Thanks for all the input. Despite all the negative reviews, for some reason I still don't hate them.

Here's another pair... what do you think?

I don't like the silver but otherwise, they are fine.

Based on your third link, I think you need to accept that you just like "Old Lady" shoes and own it. Just buy what you like and don't worry about what others think.

NP here. Why are they Old Lady? Tell me specifically, why those are O.L. and what would constitute "YOUNG."

NP here - I don't think they are old lady per se (I actually like old lady stuff, in the Mrs Roper sense - she's my fashion hero. But I digress.). I see those as both a little unfeminine, because of the straps. I actually love cork wedges, I love the low wedges, I love silver. But the placement of the straps on both pair cut the foot in a way that does away with all femininity. (Maybe that's a plus in the classroom?)

Those are much nicer.

yes. I bought a version of these last year. DH still thinks they are frumpy (he'd prefer slut slingbacks--but I WAH and chase kids around playgrounds after work). I have gotten tons of compliments from women on them when I wear them with boyfriend jeans, etc.

OP, shoes are 30% off at lands end today.

What about these? They also come in other colors.

Not cork bottom, but cork in the footbed.

These may be too high, but they also come in other colors.

They are definitely frumpy, but the best of the three posted by OP.

Yes. I am bummed out. I owned the absolute best, all black wedge by Banana Republic in 2002. None of this cork shit. It was a bit square toed in front...minimal strapping---not super-high Japanese servant style. I wore the shit out of those things. I had them repaired 4 times before they finally were cashed.

I so many times think I need to go into shoe design because I will have the perfect shoe in my head and can't find it anywhere. Or there will be something sort of close but then it will have an ugly detail or buckle, etc.

It is frustrating. Bring back the non-cork, non espadrille wedges!!
