Are these "old lady-ish"?

Oh gosh, the original ones are not good, to put it bluntly. You're better off going with a flat sandal. That in between wedge height screams grandma trying to be hip.

Yes. Look at Kork-ease shoes - similar" but more stylish. Nordstrom has them. Also check out 6pm.com

The second pair is cute!

I am in the minority. I like the first pair better. Must be a teacher thing

OP, the ones you suggested are AWFUL.

The ones the PP suggested as an alternative are not my taste, but are MUCH, MUCH better.

She said no heels, so I am guessing the second link is too high.

OP posted the second link. Those are good.

Have you tried looking at Kork-ease?

I'm not a teacher, but I also prefer the first ones -- mainly because I also can't do heels. I'm sad they're nearly universally disliked.

Just stick with flats. There are tons of stylish options from casual to dressy, especially for summer.

They are really ugly IMO. Goto Zappos and check out the Born shoes. They are great for comfort and there are some good options that are better looking than what you picked.

I'm usually picky about shoes, but don't think the first ones are that bad - in black at least. I'd say more basic and casual than frumpy - but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The second ones are cuter but also look less comfortable I'm afraid.

OP, check out Sbicca sandals.
