Husband too nice

OP, what is your HHI?

Why is HHI relevant to the question at hand? Focus much?

OP, it sounds like you need a therapist for yourself. Your posts here are incoherent and somewhat paranoid.

HHI is relevant to the concept of afford. If they have an HHI of 1.2 million then DH might feel he can afford large donations. OP might not because she wants that money to go to x saving account.

+1.

Why does it sound like people are prying instead of helping? Interesting. Whose money are we spending here? Yours?

Clearly OP, your husband has suffered some sort of mental problem. Maybe a stroke, maybe some form of mental illness, maybe bipolar disease is appearing, maybe some sort of PTTS-related issue bubbling up years later.

Your first stop is to insist your DH have a thorough physical. You need to talk to the doctor yourself and express your concerns about recent changes in your DH's behavior. After that, you need to find a psychiatrist who will prescribe medication for your DH that may help with his behavior. If he's giving away money, that's a problem that must be corrected soon. But likely there's a physical basis for this, and you'd best get him to a doctor soon.

OP, you have to admit that your inittial posts were very vague and open ended. I did not weigh in because I had no idea what he was doing and I did not want to give inappropriate advice.

OP, if this is your sole complaint about your DH, give him a hug and give thanks. There are so many other DW/DH/SOs into relationships with serious problems, that basically you sound like a troll.

This was one of the things my father did when he started his descent into dementia. It became a bigger and bigger problem with time, as he started buying people cars, houses, and other extravagant items. He was a rich man, and could afford to do this a little, but if he continued at the rate he was going, he would run out of money before he passed on. He really had no concept of how much money he actually had, due to his dementia. It is still a big problem, but now at least it is clear that he has severe dementia, and we don't try to argue with him. We just got power of attorney, and don't give him direct access to his money, only indirect.

Thank you PPs! We have a great reference for a wonderful top psychiatrist with an appointment for this week. (There was a cancellation, otherwise we would have had to wait months, which is too long). We may have to have an MRI to make sure it is not awful. Fingers crossed. Better safe than sorry.

I am looking forward to good news, hopefully. I have looked it up, based on the helpful responses, and it seems quite common. So thank you for the helpful information.

It also helps to have lots of doctor friends from the top areas. Again, I would not have known to ask if helpful people had not come forward, so I am grateful! It is always nice to have sane people amongst the crazies.

Lesson learned: when there is a huge personality change, there may be health trouble. As the helpful posters posted, it is very difficult to go through, so I certainly hope the helpful posters never have to go through this.

If any of the helpful posters are curious about doctors names or information, feel free to post and I would be happy to point you in the right direction.

Thank you!!!

So, in three days, over a holiday weekend, you were able to get a reference and a new patient appointment with a top psychiatrist for this week.

This whole thread sounds fake, OP.

Sorry about the good news?
