| A lot of people at my daughters tennis club were talking about the Open and a few brought up her mom and they said its because she resented the implication when Mary C said Serena would be buying dinner that night, apparently there is some bad blood about Serena taking care of her whole family, mama included. |
You'll have to get in line behind Patrick Mouratoglou. |

I remember when the Williams sisters were in their early teens there was so much hype in the tennis circle about their talent and Dad held them back in turning pro until they reached 18- I believe. Dad knew what he was doing and give credit to them for sustaining such an unbelievable career especially Serena who will go down as the greatest woman tennis player ever like it or not.

Agreed, super smart, especially when you consider all the teen pros that burned out by the time they were adults. |
| For those complaining why one wouldn't root for the American, I guess you missed the Isner-Monfils match? Isner was complaining afterwords that the crowd was rooting for the Frenchie.....considering the dire state of US men's tennis, it's a bit rough and her probably could have used the support, but Americans love an underdog. |
| I think there is a very strained relationship between Serena, her money and her mother. That would explain the very unenthusiastic body language shown at her victory ceremony. |
