Oakton HS vs. Marshall

I would love to know your route. I am in Vienna, and at Rush Hour, it takes at least 45 min to get to dc, even with a car pool. 10 min to 66,15 min to the beltway, 20 min to the Roosevelt bridge.

I would love to know your route. I am in Vienna, and at Rush Hour, it takes at least 45 min to get to dc, even with a car pool. 10 min to 66,15 min to the beltway, 20 min to the Roosevelt bridge.

why not take the Vienna metro? That's what I do. 31 minutes to office in downtown D.C.

Oakton is very close to the Vienna Metro, so it's a quick ride to DC and your kids will be in a better school. Win-win.

Oakton is way out there. Vienna metro to downtown DC is a half hour, plus you have to get to the metro and Vienna has a lot of traffic. I can't see Oakton being less than 45 minute to an hour.

You are probably correct, but we still picked over Oakton over Marshall. We are more interested in access to AP courses than to the IB program, and the athletic teams are much stronger. Our DD is a strong athlete, and the Oakton teams get much more attention from recruiters.

Oakton is a big region. The high school is probably a 10 min walk from metro.
