Wow. I am sure that will be a great comfort to those who lost loved ones. Seriously, PP, think before you post.

I think pp is a little too sensitive. It probably will actually be a comfort to those who have loved ones injured or who have loved ones they cannot get in touch with. And it may well be a comfort to those who lose loved ones that they didn't die for lack of sufficient nearby medical care.

I took forward to hearing about what is found on any pertinent security camera footage.

I have a sick feeling this is a domestic terrorist. It was well-reported that many of the Sandy Hook families were running the race today and I just can't help but assume that it is related. I really, really hope not.

Now this is more than a little bit of a stretch. Get a grip.

I just saw this on the news. What in the world??

Actually I'm sure it will be of at least some comfort. At least loved ones will know that everything, and every resource was available and tried - Mass General has one of the best Trauma centers in the country, let alone world. And yes, I've had loved ones treated there.

You may want to think about what you're contributing to a conversation. Snark and sarcasm help no one, but your petty ego.

It will be interesting - one complication is there might be TOO much media to sift through - in addition to security camera footage, you can bet plenty of spectators were taking video and pictures at the finish line. Hopefully it won't be long before they can get to the bottom of things.

Then look at real news sources not the rumor mill that is DCUM. This is how all the rumors at Sandy Hook got going. I have 12 cousins that I am waiting for word of - but I am letting my dad work the phone to his siblings rather then try to guess where they are or be thankful that the health care is solo great in Boston. 2 of my cousins are doctors, that won't save the, if they were at the finish line.

Donate blood, but please make sure you're eligible to donate before you go, so you don't take time away from people who are definitely able to donate blood.

the first explosion was followed by the balloons flying off and then the second explosion - a signal?

I bet most of the security at the finish line was focused on catching bandit runners.
Now that the race has been halted, will the runners still get their finisher medals?

Will they test the air for radiological material? I think the police in large cities have those rad monitors, so I assume those would be in play here, right?

Initial speculations on CNN is that it has the marks of a "home-grown" terrorist.

They are saying on cnn radio that the ied found was detonated by the bomb squad, so that's no longer a speculation. Total 3 explosions so far, to clarify.
