Preference for older/mature women?

I'm 46 and I'm finding this conversation weird and diverting- are you all saying that there is a younger man out there attracted to a 46 year old woman?

I think women look for partners- younger guys with little to offer but sex, or older, entitled men who objectify women, none of this interests me.

There seem to be people who want to characterize this as wishful thinking on the part of women, and they seem compelled to post as such in these threads. As a woman in her forties in good shape with a cheerful outlook, I can tell you it is absolutely shocking who comes onto me. I am *fine* with many younger guys not finding me attractive. Believe me, that is not where I am looking for partners. But there is no denying that many are also interested.

Wishful thinking, or claiming younger guys are only interested because they think we'll be easy, doesn't really explain the popularity of the category. It also doesn't explain lived experience.

What is actually happening in the world is more interesting to me than someone's opinion, especially if they seem oddly invested in making specific other people feel bad. That's kind of creepy, actually.

And, too, lot of the videos most popular in the MILF category are fit and attractive women who appear in their forties. Does this mean all men are attracted to them? No. Does it mean that all women in their forties would be chased by younger men? No.

Does it counter the claim that if you are a fit, attractive woman in her forties, you are past the point of drawing interest? Yeah, it does. For whatever that's worth.

I'm a 38 year old divorced man and my parents live in a large retirement community in FL. They are early to bed people so when I visit I usually head out on my own to the local bars. The women I meet there are in their mid to late 50's and they are a pleasure to spend time with. They are very attractive, fun and within minutes they can be very direct about what they are interested in. The first time it happened I was very surprised and politely said no as older women were not my thing. But when it happened again I decided what the hell and went back to her place. Her energy and enthusiasm for sex was incredible. I've been with a few others just like her and they are all open and honest about what they want. While my preference is for women my own age, these older women are great.

This is very true. I'm a 58 year old male and in the past six months have had two women in their mid-50's ask me out clearly for the purpose of having sex. Both had recently exited sexless marriages and sex was something they really missed. No fine wine and dining was required. Both actually apologized for their forwardness. I had known one of the women for about 15 years and never would have imagined that she was either so sex starved or could be that good in bed. I continue to be FWB with both of them. I'm sure they would prefer trying out a younger guy but they seem pretty satisfied with an old guy.

PP, the men were the same age as your friend which equals a relationship, and they likely saw her advertising for that, while you were a potential hookup.
