Check w the school, I believe your acceptance of the 1st grade spot will move your PK child to top of wait list

PP here. Principal JUST called and you're right, the PKer jumps to the top of the wait list. Now I guess I just have to make a decision.

Anyone know how far down the PK wait list they went last year?
Anonymous
For the current prek there were about 16 new kids, more or less.

So they only went down the WL 16 spots last year for PK?

Wow, I can only think of 4 new kids in my child's PK class. Either the other class has a lot more kids who were new this year or I am forgetting a bunch of kids

I'm sure however many new kids total there are in this year's PreK they went further down the waitlist to fill the slots.

I'm a bit surprised at 15 new first graders-that's almost an entire class. Any ideas?

No we got in and we were in the 40s. We came in during the first week of school so I think by that point people ahead of us were set in other schools and declined their spots. There can be a lot of movement in August and September.

So we are in the low 30's for preK. Anybody think we have a shot, before the end of Summer?
Have two other options but would prefer IT.

Expecting turnover and increasing class size are two guesses.

Sorry, I mis-wrote. I looked again and only about 8 - 10 new kids in current PreK 4. A child who was # 15 on PreK list was admitted the first week of school this year so they went through 15 or so at least for the current PreK 4. Not much further because the names much past #15 don't appear on our class rosters.

The PP who is saying she got a call in the 40s - maybe this is for the current Preschool3?

Where are you looking for the 2012-2013 lottery results? I could totally be misremembering but I really think we were in the low 40s for this years current PreK class (could have been high 30s but it was no lower than that). We were admitted the first week of school. IT did a great job updating the list on the website and it was exciting to watch us getting closer and closer.
