Anonymous wrote:Honestly? Yeah I think you are too heavy to pull this look off. But then again I see tons of moms in this area try and do it and it after a while you just kind of think chunky legs and thighs in leggings are the norm.

I am also a size but was once a size 24. I won't wear leggings at all now because I had to wear them when I was obese with longer tops and tunics. In fact,if you look at the fat lady clothing store catalogs and websites, this is a standard look. So for me if you can't tuck the shirt into the leggings or you need a shirt that flairs over your hips/butt it's a fat lady look.

You have issues. She looks great.

She does NOT have issues just because she doesn't agree with you. Many people feel this way - when I leave DC and go to the burbs, I'm always shocked at the obese people in leggings.

Oh honey, just because they're not a size 2 like you doesn't make them obese. Grow up.

Actually, they ARE obese. Honey.

Just an FYI:I am pretty similar to OP. At 5'11 and a size 14/16, I am not obese. I weigh 165 pounds and have a BMI of 23.

Adorable! Don't change a thing.

what kind of jean are those. You look great OP

You look terrific, OP!! And thanks so much for the wide calf boots link. So hard to find ones that will fit my calves.

BMI isn't the best indicator in the world of obesity. I'm 5'8 and about 160, which puts my BMI at the edge of overweight, but I'm also a solid size 6/8.

You have issues, too.

No, I don't actually. OP asked what people thought, and there will be a variety of opinions. I am defending the PP from you, who automatically thinks that anyone who tells the truth about weight "has issues."

You make a lot of assumptions. I think that PP has issues because she is talking about not wearing "fat lady" looks. She makes it sound like a tunic shirt or a shirt that flairs at the hips is a freakin' mumu. She has issues.

I say that you have issues because you are super-sensitive and jump to assumptions.

Actually, I don't think she has issues at all. So she doesn't like a certain look for specific reasons - give it a break. You're the one who jumps to assumptions - like everyone who disagrees with you has issues. You just did it to two people in a row.

And in fact, I'm not a size 2 - I'm a size 6, and I was one of the first posters on page 1 of this thread who said the OP looked good.

All the pieces look great on you but I wouldn't pair them up like you did. I don't understand why you asked if your too fat for the outfit considering the outfit fits. So do you want to be judged on the outfit? If so, it's great, but not paired up how I would like it. Want to be judged on your looks? I dislike amazon women, specially if you aren't skinny. Just seems ew. Bring the flames...and flame on.

You look great!!

I'm a size 16 and probably closer to 195, but I have a shape very similar to OP. I'm broader in the shoulders (and yes!! I see you do have a high waist!), and a couple of inches taller--but I guess I'm a bit surprised by everyone else's surprise? "No way are you a 14/185lbs?"

I suppose if you are 5'5", that sounds *huge*--but surely you understand it's all a matter of perspective? I mean, I know, objectively, there are women out there for whom 100lbs is a healthy wait, but frankly, I've no idea if that's a healthy weight for a woman who is 5'1" or 5'3" or whatever.

I am a 14 and weigh about the same but am only 5'8" and pray that I look like you to other people. You look great not fat at all. I honestly don't care for the shirt or the overall look, but its just not my personal style. That said, you really do look great and I just can't believe you are a 14!

I don't want to take away any of OP's glory, because she looks amazing in those clothes, but a 5'10" woman can pull off a higher BMI and look smaller. Also, it's not unusual to be a slim tall woman but yet require a larger size. Lots of height usually = bigger size, but a woman who looks / is much slimmer than the size number would indicate.

But who cares? As I said - you look amazing, OP.

Agree with the others: totally adorable. And I like the top with the jeans (am a fan of denim on denim, and I don't think you need to go any longer with the top, though if you felt like it you could). The boots are fantastic, too. You manage to pull off the skinny jeans with boots thing without looking like you wish you were out riding horses. (Nothing against horses. I love horses. Just not a fan of people traipsing around the city looking like they've just come from the stable.)

In short, don't change a thing.

Super cute, OP!

OP, you have great proportions. You are definitely rocking that look.

OP again. Seriously, did I take a wrong turn and come to the Midwestern Urban Moms site? I've never seen so many kind posts! Thank you. You all made my week.
