| 12:50 here again. Fair point re: young. I'm 30- maybe n that's not so young, but def early career- only a few yrs out of grad school (MA in int'l security). Although I was officially "hired" by my contractor, it was because the govt client really wanted me, but has not been in a positon to hire feds for a while. I work alongside the feds in their org and perform similar work- I barely interact with my contracting org at all- just for hr stuff and travel. If we get past this sequester mess, i actually hope to become a fed and take a small pay hit. Our particular line of work is just really badass, I want to keep doing it indefinitely, and I feel weird doing some of the things I currently do as a non-Fed. |

I'm hoping for 10% this year but not sure it's gonna happen. I find out in two weeks.
Bonus was $500 but I think they only even give bonuses to a very small handful of people so I'm glad I was one of them. Our company is not doing well the past two years. |
| 3%. I am curious. What are the people doing who get big bonuses? I guess I am not in that type of career. |
I have been contracting at this federal agency for 21 years and I love the environment. I intend to stay here as long as I can. I have had anywhere from this year's 1% raise to a 24% raise. I know that the agency has cut back on the original intended funding on this contract due to advance anticipation of the sequestration and so there is very little in the budget to provide additional compensation, so I'm quite happy with 1%. I'm also towards the higher end on seniority and the more senior staff often get less (percentage-wise) increases than the more junior staff. It's comparable dollar-wise, but less percentage-wise. |

Our reviews are in July. Last July, I got 3%, so did almost everyone else, and a $15K bonus for meeting goals.
I'm told this July we'll get merit raises and not just COL. I'll believe it when I see it. |
| Promo was +9.3%, which I am furious about. I absorbed a ton of responsibility, more staff. Expecting the merit part to be at least 6%. |
| I was shocked by a 38% merit-increase raise...never in my wildest dreams was that even possible in the private sector. Going to have to check my pay check for verification. |
| 12.5% this year, another 12.5% next year. Lobbyist. |
I'm this pp - my boss just confirmed 3%. A little disappointed cause I work my ass off last year. Oh well... |
If it makes you feel better my merit plus promo was 11% total. |
That's crazy. What do you do ? |
| 9% base salary raise, $0 bonus (last year it was 50% of my base). Asset Management. |
Thats still solid. 50% bonus in asset mgmt is still a $100K bonus or so. |
| 3% raise. |
| I just received my first grade increase fro GS5 to GS7. I'm on a career 5/7/9/11 ladder in the government. |
