Superficial question - do you still wear your class ring?

+1 The only symbol I wear is my marital status, and maybe my religious status. But not where I went to school. That's just weird IMO.

No, but I see people from UVA who do.

I don't think I wore the damn thing more than a couple times, and now it does just sit in a box somewhere.

Never got a college ring.

DH wears his. Graduated early 90s. I think it’s weird but it’s his thing.

Wow this thread is appropriate, as I was cleaning my jewelry box this weekend and came across my high school class ring. It isn't gold and the stone is simulated (thus not valuable), but it is so gaudy and much larger than any jewelry I currently wear. I have very little attachment to it and no one I am related to would want it.

I had a fun thought that I'd throw it in a body of water or toss it in a hole somewhere and see if it ever comes back to me (my full name is engraved inside the band). Better than just sitting in my jewelry box for the next however many years.

Never bought one. Graduated HS in ‘91. My parents just bought me a gemstone ring so I would have a nice “real” piece of Jewelry. It was mainly rednecks and people who peaked in HS who bought class rings. The only college folks I know who bought or wore a class ring went to either women’s colleges or very small private colleges.

I still wear my class ring ,its a simple signet ring I wear on my pinky finger. I actully think it looks great.

Pinky rings never look great or professional.

I have a high school class ring in a jewelry box, I do not think I got one in college. It didn't seem worth the cost lol.

I have a ring from law school that looks like a signet ring. The sides are plain with no engraving on them and the face is just the school seal. I had my degree and year engraved on the inside. I do wear it from time to time as I like the look of signet rings (overall I dress pretty preppy) and it really doesn’t look like a traditional class ring.

I never bought one because I thought they were ugly. I can't stand them on men.

Our college ring is actually very pretty, and I see lots of alumnae wearing them. I wear mine sometimes.

My high school ring is large and clunky.

My college ring is from UVA and is actually very nice but it's gold. And I wear all silver/platinum now so it doesn't really "go" with anything.

I have no idea where my HS class ring is even at.

I only wear my college class ring if I'm going back to campus for an alumni event. Other than that, it sits in my jewelry box.

I totally judge guys who still wear them.

It tells me you peaked in high school/college/grad school and that you center your identity on that label. What have you done lately?
