Roach infestation at daycare

I'm obviously up at 4 worried. But worring solves nothing.
We are in Arlington is it overcrowding? Should I just be thankful its not rats?

What would I do?

Get the fuck out.

That's constructive. Would you snap your fingers and magically be number 1 the FDIC list or the Arlington a Children's Center?

Op here. They are working on it. My original question is being resolved. I will continue to post only pertinent updates (if the center doesn't post them). Thanks to those who helped.

ave this issue been resolved to parent's satisfaction?

While I agree a roach infestation is gross, I wonder which is more disgusting: roaches or having your daycare center "bombed" with pesticides...

Roaches are nasty, but they're not going to poison your kids.

No. I saw a roach the other day. Just trying to get through the summer for me. Why do you ask?

Health departments apparently disagreed with you.
Based on observation, the center's kitchen area and infant rooms are not being maintained in a clean and safe manner. Evidence: 1. Assistant Director and a parent observed roaches on 9/18/2012 in the kitchen area while retrieving bottles from the kitchen refrigerator. 2. Licensing Inspector observed roaches (dead and alive) in the kitchen area on the counter tops, cabinets and in the corners during the complaint investigation on 9/19/2012. 3. The Health Department did an inspection on 9/19/2012 and observed "extreme" roach activity in the lower cabinets in the kitchen as well as the mop closet and infant room cabinetry.
The were given a couple days to come up with a remedy.

My daughter will be going there there but this worries me, especially since they do not allow you to bring your own food. I asked the director about it and she very briefly said it was adressed.

The health depart inspector can answer your questions . The licensing office can tell you or you can look at the old violations showing the roaches are haven been there for sometime. They predate the construction. So long as your kid doesn't eat them it's probably ok.
We left.

Omg. I take it these are not poor families going there. This sounds like an inner city getto problem, not upper middle class paying good money.

So roaches are safe? Because the weather hasn't turned for the warmer yet.

God that building is a dump.

They are in the cabinets.

Like what? You can look up the inspection reports. There has been some turnover and nobody knows if they have a lease ending or a new location.

Current parent here. Sadly Kindercare has gone downhill significantly under the current management. Communication from the director is nonexistent. Whether it's due to the incompetence or indifference (I believe it's both) of the current management, we no longer consider Kindercare a safe place for our child. Chronic teacher turnover, roach and lice infestations, unwillingness to work with county or contruction company to address safety issues posed by the high-rise construction next to the playground...the list just kept getting longer. Eventually we felt that we would have been neglecting our primary job as parents (protecting the wellbeing of our child) had we decided to ignore the multiple warning signs and keep them in Kindercare. I would strongly urge any prospective parent to consider all other options before entrusting your child's safety to Kindercare.

Totally agree. Pulled our baby out a while ago and were fortunate enough to find a spot elsewhere. Management was completely dismissive of parent concerns--they only ever wanted to talk about getting their check.
