I've got your back on the roaches, but HFM just makes the rounds... (daycare and schools). In a lot of cases, you don't even know your kids have it until the spots break out- and by then they are not contagious anymore. That is why is spreads so quickly. Not really the fault of the parents in many (if not most) cases....

I saw them in the kitchen. Adult, young , and newborns. They were all alive and that did not jive with what I know about extermination.
I understand they are waiting on a building permit so they can pretty much redo the kitchen and the wall shared with the young ones bathroom.
I am staying as engaged as I can because we will probably skip the days after the major extermination.
It is a shame they can get a new building.
The AD is doing her best. And the teachers seem good but the roaches are not acceptable.
Btw in addition to diesease and germs roaches bite.

Roaches have nests? What does it look like and how did they know that's what it was? Do you mean more in the figurative sense as in they were all around the kitchen or there is an actual "nest" like a bee hive? So nasty either way.

Thanks. I know about HFM. Just feel bad for my crumb crusher.
To the other PP. Yes, unfortunately from my dorm room college days I know roaches nest. Ick icky ick
Still don't have the chemical list but I've not checked mail.
Hopefully, they told parents about the extermination plan and HFM today.

There were signs about the HFM but not about the roaches. Word is getting out though...

The last document list fipronil alone
They sent me the Material safety data sheet

Showing results from Bayer. I did not know Bayer Or anybody still tested on animals.

According to the reports it's looks like so long as the kids don't lick it or pick it up and put it in their eyes it is according to Bayer (who test on animals) "safe"
I'm happy to pass along the reports via email.

How long does it take to get a building permit. Now it appears they cant fix the root of the problem until the building permit is cleared. Cant the health department expedite the permit given that their operation is contigent onthe timeline for these repairs?

That place is a dump. I walked in and took a look around and got the hell out. Why would you send your kids there. And it's expensive. There are better options out there.

Bottom line!!! Our kids go here and our friends' kids go here and have for years. KIndercare is more than a building it is part of my kids extended family and family don't treat each other as you have on DCUMD. You seem to be more part of the problem than the solution. TAKE you misery and child elsewhere if you do not like Nova Kindercare. Also. any parent on here who is agreeing with your antics is not thinking about their child or how hard the leadership team is working to resolve any issue. My child woke up crying this morning because I said there was no school on MONDAY, so somebody over there is something right.

FYI the above poster is not the OP. The person saying the place is a dump is not the OP. Just to be clear.

This is how you treat family?
Standard #: 22VAC15-30-340-A
Complaint related: Yes

Description: Based on observation, the center's kitchen area and infant rooms are not being maintained in a clean and safe manner. Evidence: 1. Assistant Director and a parent observed roaches on 9/18/2012 in the kitchen area while retrieving bottles from the kitchen refrigerator. 2. Licensing Inspector observed roaches (dead and alive) in the kitchen area on the counter tops, cabinets and in the corners during the complaint investigation on 9/19/2012. 3. The Health Department did an inspection on 9/19/2012 and observed "extreme" roach activity in the lower cabinets in the kitchen as well as the mop closet and infant room cabinetry.

That's disgusting. Infants can't complain. Kindercare should be ashamed.

and if you are seeing roaches during the day then you have a serious problem as they only come out during the day if you have a major infestation. this makes my skin crawl. I can't believe parents would leave their children at aplace like this.

I'm obviously up at 4 worried. But worring solves nothing.
We are in Arlington is it overcrowding? Should I just be thankful its not rats?

What would I do?

Get the fuck out.
