| It's the olive garden of italian style mansions, and I kind of like it |
Sort of the "Never ending pasta palazzo" |
| Where there's money, there's a way. |
More amazing to me is that they think it's tasteful and attractive enough to build?! |
| Come on. Let the process take care of this. If the public wants to comment and weigh in on this proposal then that is what they should do if they see fit. Let's not trample on the rights of the owners of the property, too. There needs to be a balancing of rights here and people need to remember that. |
| That bunch wont allow solar panels. I'll be amazed if they approve this. |
No property owner rights are being trampled on here. The folks proposing the palazzo don't own the property yet. They know it's a real longshot to get past historic preservation review. Their architect has said publicly that the property purchase won't happen unless and until they get approvals. |
| Is this an outpost of Georgetown Visi? |
|
Who is the architect?
I have to admit I was expecting something much worse after all that vitriol, but that mis-proportioned arched whatever on the right is pretty terrible. |
| Looks like a monastery. |
Barnes Vanze. The HPRB application has been posted by the ANC: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/16494644/ANC3C/2012/2012-09-18/File%20Rosedale%20Manos%20House%20Plans.pdf |
| Interesting link & photos. The 2005 aerial photo shows the old NCS (later Youth for Understanding) dorms. They encroached even more on the farmhouse...and were quite ugly. Of course, there was no conservancy then. |
It's the $4 million price tag that would stop me. (I assume you mean the farmhouse.) |
|
Their poor neighbors.

| Will there be a drive thru? My favorite is Chicken Fettuccine with Alfredo Muck from a Can. Glad to see from picture that there will be extra seating on the extended 'palazzo'. |
