Would a child named Rory be teased with "whorey"?

I always think of Rory as a girl's name. I would not worry about "Rory Whorey." If she's liked, no teasing nickname. If there's some obnoxious jerk intent on teasing her, then there'll be some mocking nickname no matter what her first name is (last names are always fodder for teasing as well!).

I'm bummed this name has gotten so popular. It's been on my name list for ages but I haven't been able to use it. Maybe I'll name my next dog Rory...

I don't like it for either a boy or girl. It doesn't sound like a real name. Kind of stripper-ish.
