I get those holes and have a flat stomach. I agree the shirts are just cheap nowadays. Actually, my Target Ts are holding up the best. Gap ones have holes after one wash. |

Stop tucking in your t-shirts... |
I haven't tucked in my tshirts since 1998. And I still get lots of little holes (they started around 2006). |
Thanks guys! I thought I was alone with this problem. Then it started happening to teenage DD, also around the bottom of tshirts. I'll start paying more attention to the fabric material (price doesn't seem to make a difference in my experience), the granite countertops and the jeans. And I'll stop buying those junky JCrew tshirts. |
has anyone considered it is from a gas stove? That is what I thought it was from - from starting the gas stove or an occasional boil over that sends the flames soaring and spitting. But, it also started happening only after we put in granite. It is not from pant buttons because i wear many skirts and shorts that do not have any zipper that would be causing the problem - at least i don't think. It is in the same spot where I used to get bleach stains (from bleaching the kitchen coutertops before we put in granite). I guess the kitchen is always going to ruin my clothes regardless of the countertop.

Wow! This thread is so enlightening. I have never gotten a hole in any shirt in the belly area. It's so surprising to see how common this is. I'm trying to figure out why- I have plenty of Gap, Target, other mall and cheaper brands. But I only buy natural fibers in fabrics thick enough to wear without a cami or under-layer (no "tissue" tees), and I don't have granite countertops. Perhaps one of those factors is saving me? I'm so curious about this for some reason. |
This happens to me and I have an electric range and laminate counters. |

I you own this site, the "How it Works" link is broken. |
This happens to me too. I like the idea of wearing a camisole. |
It's from granite counter tops. This started happening to my husband and I did all kinds of internet research and also talked to friends and concluded its from granite counters, which have a rough edge or under-edge. |
Really? I love a tucked-in shirt with a cute, bright belt. Am I the only one? (hey it hides the holes.....) |
I have the same problem! Drives me crazy!!! It has nothing to do with weight or cheap teas,,I am not over weight and I have it happen with both cheap teas and expensive ones!! But even expensive ones are flimsy these days!!! Cami underneath seems to be the only solution, but who wants double layering on a hot humid day! |
