What do your kids drink with dinner?

That is probably because you are irredeemably vulgar.

Hyper-sweetened beverages are designed to appeal to the lowest elements. Adults drink water, or wine, or beer, or tea with their meals, not carbonated refreshments, as if they were grotesque oversized kids.

I really don't care what you think about me, you random internet crazy person. Wine and beer are somehow better than carbonated refreshments? Whatever.

Iced tea, usually, if it is warm out. Tea or hot chocolate in the winter. Milk if they ask, but we don't routinely drink milk....bleah. They get a 2 liter of cheap walmart soda a shopping trip---every 2 weeks---and they get to decide how long it lasts. We don't drink plain water, either. It is nasty.

I even buy Koolaid. The real sugar kind......

Two children, age 2 and 5.
They get milk at 1-2 meals a day. Juice, wtaered down, at 1 meal. Water between meals.
I drink mostly water. Occasionally milk or juice.
My husband enjoys a variety of drinks that match the meal - like soda with pizza. Occasionally he lets the 5 yr old have a sip.
Although I do believe children will emulate parents, my mom drank diet coke growing up. We could not have any soda unless it was a special occasion. I didn't think much of it - those were the rules. I drank soda as a young adult, but stopped after college.

I love the way Americans are such oversized fat asses due to their poor dietary habits and excessive ignorance.

Awww, whassamatter? Jealous that I can eat and drink what I like and still look 10 years younger than I am? Never had a cavity, either. *smug*

Enjoy your quinoa.

If your kids are outside playing all day, they need the sugar to keep moving. It doesn't make them fat---we drank koolaid, juice, and sweetened tea our entire childhood, but also ran/played outside from sunup to sundown during the summer, and every afternoon in the school year.

In restaurants she is now (age 7) allowed to order pop (caffeine free, full sugar only). She gets V8 fusion with breakfast. Usually milk with lunch.

It is rare for us adults to drink pop at home. Fizzy water is more common.

Pop? Fizzy water? The hell?

I am guessing the poster is from Minnesota. Land of pop and hot dish (preferably involving crumbled potato chips or maybe corn flakes).

I'm LMAO because I had the same reaction, but hey, it all goes along with adults drinking milk with dinner. I bet they get those white mustaches too.

Not sure why the PP mentioned how much fruit they eat, but we eat a lot of fruit, too. I assume this makes us awesome somehow? Or at least not constipated? Let's talk about poop! And awesomeness! And awesome pooping!

These are my favorites so far. Though I'm a little bummed someone beat me to the alcohol punchline.

One way to look at it: Did you all see the thread on here about struggling to quit Diet Coke?

One great thing to do for children is instill the habit of drinking water when they are thirsty. Other beverages, especially sugary ones, are liquid food - they supply calories. Coke as dessert? I can see that. Coke to help wash down dinner? I'm not so sure about that.

Should I even say it?

I KNOW! It's as though these people have never heard of steroids. Or cattle prods.

Winners do things that losers don't like to do.

That's why God invented Capri Suns.

My 3yo drinks water. If we go out for pizza she can sometimes have watered-down lemonade as a treat.
