| This thread is making me feel better. 5yo bathes 1x a week. |
Every day. I am not going to read any of the other comments because I teach first grade and I can smell the kids who don't bathe every night. DAILY. |
| My 8 year old boy takes a shower every other day in the winter because he has eczema that can get pretty bad. But he washes his feet, butt, crotch area, and neck every day. |
| Body daily, hair 2-3 per week. |
That's gross and neglectful. |
| There’s no reason an 8 year old needs to bathe every day in the winter. I grew up bathing twice a week and I remember most of my friends being similar. In the summer with sunscreen and dirt grime then a nightly rinse is good. I firmly believe daily showering is not the healthiest for most people, but I don’t fault people who enjoy showering every day as part of their routine because it feels good. |

Omg, people please bathe your kids DAILY.
They really do STINK! -Signed a teacher |
| Twice weekly. Daily in the summer if he has camp with swimming, running around. |
Me too! 2-3x a week when I was a kid in the winter. Then when we hit puberty, we started daily and you couldn't get us out of the shower. I grew up with friends whose parents were from Europe and they thought Americans were crazy to bathe daily. Then when I traveled to Europe I saw that first-hand. Stayed in rooms where we'd have to pay for hot water and had to request the bath tub stopper. I heard several innkeepers mutter, "why do Americans need to bathe so much?" |
+1 Bathing daily also lays a good foundation for their preteen years. |
| Bathing everyday in winter is actually really bad for anyone with dry skin. Every 2-3 days at that age in Winter. |
| Daily but occasionally we skip. It’s important to get into the habit so when puberty comes, showering comes natural to them. |
| Every day |
| Every other day, occasionally daily. |
I guess you missed the part where the OP asked for an 8 yr old and not a middle-aged adult. An 8 yr old produces a lot of less body odor than a grown up. |
