There’s no reason an 8 year old needs to bathe every day in the winter. I grew up bathing twice a week and I remember most of my friends being similar. In the summer with sunscreen and dirt grime then a nightly rinse is good. I firmly believe daily showering is not the healthiest for most people, but I don’t fault people who enjoy showering every day as part of their routine because it feels good.
Me too! 2-3x a week when I was a kid in the winter. Then when we hit puberty, we started daily and you couldn't get us out of the shower. I grew up with friends whose parents were from Europe and they thought Americans were crazy to bathe daily. Then when I traveled to Europe I saw that first-hand. Stayed in rooms where we'd have to pay for hot water and had to request the bath tub stopper. I heard several innkeepers mutter, "why do Americans need to bathe so much?"
