How old were you when you had your first baby and how many did you have?

Just turned 35, so now I'm AMA, which makes me so sad. I hope I have a few more rapturous homebirths yet...

Is this serious? Are you the same person who keeps posting about all her children and wonderful homebirths or are there multiple peopple? The reason I ask is that I am - in the scheme of things - a fairly strong-willed natural birther... BUT... when I hear things like this (ie list of children and then a remark about homebirths) I get the impression that you are having so many children to actually GIVE BIRTH (as opposed to the many things that come after) them. Seems like a different kind of priority and I have a hard time understanding....
.

There must be more of me out there, because I have only had my last two at home. Now I wish I could go back in time and have them all at home, but while I did have them naturally, I did not enjoy birth until I stayed home.

Children are gifts in themselves. If I did what I wanted, I would be a crazy cat lady writer. But I accept children as they come. Now that I have had the homebirth experience, I realize that childbirth is a gift, too. But strictly a side benefit

Not really, I've had four c-sections. Did you doctor tell you it was too risky?

My aunt is about to have her seventh csection. She is AMA and her oldest is not 9 yet. Her OB told her she would die if she had any more after the 2nd csection, but she and all of her children are in perfect health.

Maybe get a 2nd opinion?

BUT I needed fertility treatments. I probably would have needed them earlier, but my unsolicited advice to you is -- it you are in a position to do so -- don't wait any longer. And if it takes you more than 6 - 9 months to get pregnant, see a reproductive endocrinologist.

Started trying at 38; had DD a day after I turned 41 (IVF); found out I am preggers at 42 (naturally); don't know gender yet but I figure we're done after this one. Thought I was done after the first but Mother Nature had other ideas.

Hang in there OP. You may *feel* old but as you can see, there are plenty of us out there that waited and had children / started our families in our fourties and we're all doing just fine.

30 and 33. We are most likely done.

I just have one so far, born when I was almost 29. I hope for at least 1-2 more.

Here was my mom's pattern, though:

I am really happy OP started this thread because I am 28 (I know not that old) but I feel like we will not be TTC for atleast 2 more years due to some finance type things, and it scared me a bit.

But it looks like most women on here range from starting at 33ish and thats great to see. Thanks for giving me some reassurance!

My mom had 3 by the time I will be TTC.
