Married at 15
#1 at 16 Total of 4 plus two m/cs Oh, wait. That was my grandmother. Me: Married at 29 #1 at 36 #2 at 38 (almost 39). I think we should feel very fortunate that we have the choices we have now and stop nit picking each other's choices. I am sure my grandmother would have said the same before she passed away 6 years ago. She couldn't have typed it, though - back then girls worked on the farm and she barely finished the 6th grade. She spent most of her 70s trying to learn to read and write. |

early miscarriage at 36
#1 at 37 pregnancy loss due to AMA-related genetic issues at 38 #2 at 40 Had relatively minor issues conceiving, mostly due to male factor infertility, funny enough since he is two years younger than me. Nothing super intensive or invasive (conceived the old fashioned way). Still kinda think about a third, but leery of going through it again, with unknown outcomes (two happy healthy neurotypical kids). Age is a factor, though it's impossible to predict for any one person how much of a factor it will be. Sucks. But true. Married at 30. Wish we had started trying earlier, but it is what it is. Actually, I think one of the great regrets of my life will be not having kids at a younger age. |
