18:28 - I'm not sure I would want an addict in office either. (Look at what a dry drunk - GWB - did to the country!) My point is that it doesn't help anyone to call names or to write this off as a "character flaw" instead of a real mental health problem that deserves some modicum of compassion and a heck of a lot of therapy. Mind you, I don't think being compassionate means not holding the person responsible, which the voters in his district will have a chance to do.
18:35 - The way you can tell is that they get caught. Someone who is simply selfish will typically not behave recklessly enough to be caught. His/her self-preservation instincts won't let that happen. If you aren't selfish, if you care what other people think and about how they might perceive you, then you will feel guilt and shame. Guilt and shame are what lead to recklessness; which is just a sign that they want to get caught, a cry for help. |
Brilliant! This is how he is going to save his seat - by taking the addiction route. Not that I don't think it's possible he has an addiction - just that I hadn't figured out how he could spin this to make it possible to rehabilitate his image. If he can change the story line from being incredibly stupid and arrogant to being a sex addict working at recovery, that may just work for him. |
| Democrats always lie. "I didn't text the wiener". "I never had sex with that woman". "lewinsky is a stalker". "i didnt pull my pants down on paula jones." "I didnt assault kathleen willy". "I didn't rape jaunita broderick". "Republicans just want to cut medicare". "government spending grow the economy" |
| Not just Democrats but most if not all politicians lie. |
| Thats why government should always be de-centralized and individual responsibility emphasized. People who can't even run their own lives should have zero power over others lives. That is what made America great, and able to withstand decline. We need to get back there asap. |
Can they get rid of him while he's in treatment? I think he is hoping this will all blow over by the time he returns and reveals he is cured or managing his problems. |
| Just wait until his wife returns after a few weeks of having Ms. Rodham to talk with about this. He has no idea how little he has left. |
| More pictures. This time taken at the House's gym with him in a towel holding his crotch area. What else are they going to find out? Did he cheat on his wife too? Geez, he needs to go, like yesterday. |
|
I'm just glad he's seeking help now, before this whole thing gets out of hand.
ahahaha. sigh. |
| He could have survived if he brought in his high school picture where he looks like Arnold Horshak with an afro and said "If you looked like this and were named Weiner...you would be mentally damaged too. When I look at myself in the mirror, it makes me physically ill." "Please don't take my job, without it I am nothing." |
| How does someone this unattractive become a complete narcissist? It's stunning. |
I think being that unattractive as a high school student could stay with you forever--sort of your mental image of yourself, regardless of how much you worked out in a gym, became fairly successful, or married a very attractive woman. |
Exactly, the man is gross looking. |
| The man has a problem, a serious one. I mean, honestly, has he actually looked in the mirror? He's one ugly dude. He's got some so-so pecs he's built up at the gym, but he'd have to cut off his head to turn himself into the eye candy he'd like to think he is. Did you look at those photos of him holding his camera and taking pix of himself in a towel in front of the mirror. He looks more than ghastly! Maybe a semi-blind teenager could find that heap of rubberized blubber attractive, but most women would run from the sight of him. His poor wife. She looks very nice. What got into her? Oh, yeah, right. |
| Now Obama's weighing in . . . you'd think Weiner would take the President's suggestion. |
