Political Discussion
Reportedly, there's a more explicit picture out there now. |
| Weiner was one the most partisan hacks in office. I personally find the whole thing hilarious, except for his poor wife, of course. |
Hee hee. |
Well, you ARE the naughty one! I'm the PP and didn't think of that when I was posting!
|
| The moral is that politicians need to find e-babes who won't text-and-tell. Perhaps some enterprising lawyer should draft a pre-email agreement. |
| NY is losing two seats after the last census. His will be the one to go if he does not resign asap. Probably regardless, which is why he wanted to run for mayor. |
Nobody honest, honorable makes it that far in politics to end up in public office. Face it. If you judge him you have to pass judgement on the entire US congress and fire everybody. Do remember the talk about the oval office and the cigar, or something like that |
Because everyone in public office is a liar. Find something else to get outraged about...like something that actually matters. It's amazing how people get so upset over stupid stuff but when 3 year olds are getting molested at the airport it's no big deal. All your freedoms are belong to us and you like it. |
I don't know anyone who's not outraged over 3 year olds getting molested anywhere. Who do you know who views it as "no big deal?" I'm also outraged over Weiner's behavior. One doesn't negate the other. I'm sick of despicable behavior being excused, as if it doesn't matter, regardless of political views. |
Well then you must spend your life with your head nearly about to explode because there are far worse things going on....things that actually impact your personal life. Is it a big deal that he did this to his wife- yes. Is it my business- no. If you want to cheat on your wife and lie about it doesn't impact me, and I am not surprised because I already knew you were a liar given your profession. Get over it, and worry about if in 5 years you and your kids will have to be strip searched in order to go to the supermarket in the name of "freedom". |
You're the one who sounds as if your head is about to explode. You don't have to agree with me, and that's fine. If you have no problem with that kind of behavior, then feel free to cast your vote for him and similar politicians. I happen to think that there are clear-headed political leaders from both major parties (also, independents, etc) who are able to make important, even life-changing decisions, for our country but who also know how to act in a decent, respectable manner. Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama immediately come to mind. |
| Just read he will seek treatment. Don't think you can treat being a selfish prick. Desperate and pathetic. They should fire him for these character flaws. |
| It's called "sex addiction," not being a prick. And it's a real thing. (Ask Tiger Woods. Or Bill Clinton.) These are not stupid men. They knew what they were doing was incredibly risky and would get them in trouble and possibly even ruin their lives, and yet they weren't able to stop themselves. That is the definition of addiction. He certainly needs to take responsibility and getting real help is the first step. But recovery is possible and writing this off as simply a character flaw helps no one. |
Fine, I don't think an addict should hold public office. Why would I want someone in office with no self-control who does incredibly risky things? Bill Clinton was taking serious and confidential phone calls while fooling around with Lewinsky. That's reckless behavior and we deserve better than that. |
| How do you know it's a mental? problem and not just selfish behavior? Does getting treatment get you out of responsibility for your actions? Very popular solution these days for people who are only sorry they got caught. And what do we do if they cannot be cured or it cannot be controlled? |
