| I live in Bethesda and am east of the park nearly every day. My kids went to elementary school east of the park. OP there is a whole world out there. Capitol Hill is lovely and 8th Street is booming. Check out a DC United game at RFK or a Nationals game at the ballpark. You can pretty reliably park for both if you don't want to venture on metro. The new Arena Stage is really fabulous. Go see Oklahoma this summer. Penn Quarter is lively and there are tons of great restaurants. Check out Oyamel. You really need to get out more and enjoy the city. |

I hope your child never gets seriously and is taken to Children's Hospital. How would ever have to deal with...driving to a more racially and economically diverse area of town?
And, fwiw, some the greatest and oldest wealth in the city is located in Crestwood, east of the park. gasp! |

Maybe go see Ft. Stevens - where Lincoln watched the attack from the north of DC!
