I've never been east of RCP

And, you have been downtown? And, to Dupont? And, probably to Logan Circle? GW Campus? The Capitol? Eastern Market? Penn Quarter?

Really, you are just full of it.
Anonymous
Of all those places you mentioned only The Capitol.

Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, and U Street are all...get ready for it.....EAST OF THE PARK.

Maybe you should move to the true suburbs and save money. Not being snarky, but it seems you've missed the whole point of living in the city and paying a premium for it.

And I've never been there. And I probably never will. It's like another city over there.

I agree. Or, do a staycation. You may be impressed by the city in which you live.

OP, is there a reason why you feel this is worthy of anything? I mean, other than perhaps a Facebook status? I grew up in Bethesda, and I'm there perhaps once a year now. Georgetown I have been in perhaps twice in the last ten years. I don't see that this is extraordinary in any way that you don't venture into parts of the city. I had to look up the neighborhood Kent the other day because despite the fact that I'm a native Washingtonian, I had never heard of it and didn't know where it was.

Soooooooooo basically you avoid the areas where black folk might be?

People, OP is a troll. Let's stop feeding her.

New poster here. How can you consider yourself a native washintonian if you grew up outside of the District and had never even heard of Kent.

Logan Circle doesn't want you. You will bring down the vibe just by being there.

Or you can go but dress your kids in those DC hats cocked to one side so that people think you are tourists and cut you a break.

Another native DC'er here. All of these neighborhood names were resurrected by realtors. Nobody referred to some of the neighborhood names that people throw around like it's special. If they only realize how stupid they sound. And this east of the park, west of the park distinction is just as annoying.

I've never heard of Kent either. Where is it?

No, it's like a city over here. Where you are is not like a city in the first place.

I don't know what you think you'd find if you did strap on your Crocs and venture into our area, though. Gentrification has made dramatic inroads in each of these neighborhoods.

South of London.

Never heard of a Kent around here.
