I never felt hot when I was young although looking back I realize now that I was somewhat pretty. However, my daughter is gorgeous. And I'm realizing now, having seen some of the sh#t dd got from assorted jerks, and also from reading this thread, that it wasn't so bad to not be gorgeous growing up. It always felt like a loss but I can see now that everyone has something they have to deal with.

Good luck, OP. I hope you find something that will give you a good grounding and won't fade away like your looks will eventually. Go for it!

Don't love this phrase but I endorse the idea. I've never understood why a 25 year old should look down on a 45 year old as thought the 25yo has accomplished something the 45yo failed to do. Each will at various times, if all goes well, be both 25 and 45. I'm 40 and fairly attractive. My husband is hot. If a hot young thing looks at him and then gives me the "I could take him away" look, I just laugh. One day she will be 40 too and my husband is no fool.
