Adults at movie theatres....WHY?

PP...dang autocorrect...

"were there a FEW weeks ago..."

wouldn't normally correct the error, but since someone mentioned seeing people have sex in a theatre, didn't want to traumatize any further!

Haha NOW I see why you corrected it....it says screw. Haha thanks for clearing that up, when I read the initial post I was like, why go to the movies to "screw."

Went to see Water for Elephants late Friday afternoon at White Flint. No problems whatsoever, except that it wasn't in the large theater, so the screen was teeny. Of course, it was mainly us and the senior citizens....

The biggest problem are all the spoiled teenagers who text, talk, and get up and walk around through the whole thing. (Haven't seen too many babies brought in). And god forbid you politely ask them to stop doing whatever annoying thing you are doing, then you are a "f-ing b*tch" or whatever else they want to call you. I'm sure most of these kids come from good homes and I would like to think if their parents knew about this behavior they'd flip out, but I'm probably being way too optimistic.

You do seem to be a "f-ing b*tch". "I'm sure most of these kids come from good homes ". How do you know?

Potomac Yard was out of control.

We have had great luck with Fairfax Corner and Kingstowne.

in you reference to the Eisenhower theater, is that AMC Hoffman 22? DH and I were there screw weeks ago and no toilet paper in at least 5 or 6 of the stalls! It was an otherwise nice experience- no crying babies, no people talking or texting on phones, etc. And I wad happily surprised that the tickets for our evening shoeing were "only" $11. We haven't been out to the movies in forever...probably 3 years...and I was expecting like $17-20 per ticket!

Speaking of $11 per ticket, when the heck did a child's ticket become $8???? My DD is not a big fan of going to the movies, so I was really shocked when i took her and my DS to see Hop a few weeks ago and saw that children now cost $8. Another DCUM dinosaur here, but I remember when a night time adult ticket was $8 in NYC (where I grew up) and then one theater had the gall to raise their tickets to $10, and it made the evening news!!

Tickets are $6 for everyone (tax included) if you go to an AMC theater before noon. This is true any day of the week

I love going to movies at Gallery Place. Yeah there are sometimes jerk-heads who won't shut up, but at least there are equally unafraid peers who will shoosh them. And when the movie is bad, and supposed to be sad but it's just laughable, the whole audience laughs when it gets to the point of ridiculousness. If the movie is funny, everyone laughs. If it's scary, people will gasp audibly. It really is a special experience

That said, I don't go to rom-coms or dramas. I prefer shoot-em-ups or suspense or sci fi. So perhaps it's the kind of movie you're seeing that attracts the obnoxious audience? Like Twilight or Harry Potter?

Come on guys, let's call it a cultural difference. Some people just are more verbal and boisterous and see movie-going as an interactive experience. If you don't like it, stay home or go somewhere where there are lots of white people.

Yeah I was going to post a response to this... But realized there is no point in arguing with a moron.
