I am shocked and appalled - by me - by my need to click on this subject line - and my crazy need to reply. Why can't I stop myself !

I think anyone who was born and raised in a different country has the potential to drive in a manner that some of us would consider 'bad" simply because it is different. I once read/heard someone saying one of the problems with driving in D.C. is you get such a mix of people. You get rude "cut you off to save a second" notherners. You get "I'm going to ignore it's my turn because its nicer to let the other person go first' southerners. And you get a very diverse mix of people from other countries -that grew up with different rules, different roads and even different speed limits. Lets face it - probably every one of us is considered a bad driver by someone else.

13:03 PP - you see more stupid/obnoxious vanity plates in Virginia because they are really cheap in VA compared to other states. It costs almost nothing to get a vanity plate here, so people are more likely to get them, even if they have nothing of value to say on them.

The vanity plate I like the best, that I see often on my commute: "STB4VT" with a Vtech sticker. (Saint Before V-Tech.) The vanity plate I like least, that I saw last week: "4DCUNTD". It says "For DC United" but the C-word in the middle really threw me. Ew.

I steer clear of cars with the stuffed animal zoo in the back window. I can't imagine the driver is very bright, or can see much out their back window. I also assume that # of bumper stickers is inversely related to IQ.

As for Asian drivers... I go to Merrifield Golds, which shares a parking lot with an Asian market. The parking lot is the biggest nightmare I have ever seen. Not sure I can extrapolate anything from that, but I dread that parking lot. I think a lot of drivers in this area don't speak English as a first language, so I imagine driving might be a different experience; there may be a bit of a lag in comprehending all the street signs? I know if I were driving in Paris, I'd be a less-than-awesome driver because reading the signs would take my brain just slightly longer than the native French-speaking drivers.

I saw a white woman about 20 yo reading a book on the Toll Road during rush hour. Cars were moving at maximum speed, not bumpered up. If this isn't stupidity and bad driving at its worst, i don't know what is. Why are white people so stupid? Is it due to inbreeding? She had Kentucky plates.

SIDE NOTE- has anyone else noticed like in the one above...someone takes a real post and then put in an ad "I go to Abe's You Should Get a Deal"...this happened in another post and I noticed bc they did it to my post in another thread. Look at the bottom of 13:13...the poster took the sentence from there....does anyone else notice this?
