Turns out you are racist without even trying. |
Often stereotypes are not fulfilled until someone says it. In other words - you make it true in your own mind. It's like someone saying "don't think about pink elephants" and that's all you can think about. Or "don't look at that road sign" and you look anyway.
It's an inside joke between my sister and I that after the Modern Family episode that joked about Asian drivers we now notice how many poor drivers are Asian. Of course, there are thousands of poor drivers who are Caucasian, African American, and Hispanic as well. Race/ethnicity really doesn't make a difference. |
Timidity. It's the lack of forcefulness and confidence with which they drive that makes me bonkers. |
Ok, at first this thread hurt my feelings because I am Asian, although born and raised here. I know I can drive well. But over the past week, I have noticed that all the poor drivers I've seen on the road, minus the white guy driving the Bimmer, were to my dismay, Asian. An old Asian lady cut me off today. And yesterday I saw my Asian neighborhood friend run a stop sign. And there were a few other incidents I saw over the whole week...all of them Asian! Sigh. I guess there is truth to OP's statement.
Oh well, at least we're supposed to be good at math (which I am not). |
yet you gutsy drivers kill. |
RIP George Carlin. |
I LOVE YOU, unless you are Asian, white, Jewish, black, hindu, latina, native american, Afrian American, or other. |
I haven't killed anyone. But yes, I do right turn on red once I've checked that it's clear, rather than just do the safest possible thing and decline to turn right then and just wait for the green light <arrrgggghhhhh> |
