Question for women who have enlisted help @ home

20:22 -- thanks for this comment... a good example of how things are possible, and sometimes it literally takes you or DH actually not being able to do it all due to a disability, to show how much kids really are capable of helping us out!

FWIW I'm a working mom with a super-helpful DH and 3 kids (two in school/pres-school and an infant). We don't outsource anything. Our house is typically "tidy" b/c DH and I split the evening chores (one of us bathes the kids, gets out outfits for the next day, etc. while the other tidies the kitchen, runs the dishwasher, and does a load or two of laundry). Since you are home all day, you should be able to tackle some stuff throughout the day. When I was on maternity leave I tried to tackle one room to do a deep clean each day (in addition to maintaining the kitchen and family room). And our kids are responsible for certain things such as sorting laundry and putting their own clothes away (even if they just shove them in drawers).
