LAMB waitlist

I'm not sure how someone in the 200s would get an email. We're in the 60s and haven't received one. Are you sure she was in the 200s? If so, this greatly concerns me b/c I was assured they were not going to use language preference this year.

Are you sure that was her WL # and not her tracking number?
Anonymous
I believe they have to right to pick spanish dominant students from the WL to keep a balance. Even if that means passing English speaking students on the WL.

I emailed with the school this morning to inquire about the location of the new school. They indicated that it would be at the Michigan Park Christian Church near 4200 South Dakota Avenue. I believe this is the location that was long-assumed to be the front runner for the new temporary school.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're jumping the list to Spanish dominant kids. Not surprised at all. I swear at the open house the director said that they must look at language to keep a balance.

Is this compliant with charter board rules and regulations?
Anonymous
No, I don't think so. Although there has been speculation that they were chartered before those rules had been established, and somehow they are allowed to function differently. They appear to be denying that it's happening. Let's hope so, unless they are allowed to...

It would be nice if the proccess could be more open. It really is not much work to post the results online. I have the same problem with inspired teaching.

Sorry to go off base, but what issue have you been having with Inspired? From what I gather, the deadline was yesterday and they haven't been able to move the list but expect to do so today/tomorrow. Do you think they are being non-transparent like LAMB?
Anonymous
Not at all. Nor am I sure LAMB is being intentionally non- transparent. I find it comforting to have the info easy to access online. That's all.

Haynes is another school that could take some basic steps to help people feel more confident in their lottery process.

For those on the waitlist, the letter from LAMB requests notification by May 6th so hopefully after then you'll start seeing movement!

So I'm not the only one who can't get an answer out of Inspired Teaching re: the waitlist? I've emailed 3 times, have not gotten anything in the mail either.

No you're not. I called today and was assured that they will be making contact in the next day or so being that their deadline was just yesterday.

When I did need additional info after the lottery, Inspired was very responsive. I emailed Zoe Duskin directly and heard back within 24 hours.

My complaint above is only based on my desire to have lottery results posted online.

does anyone know where to find a copy of the charter documents - I assume they are public documents.

Also, has anyone gotten a straight answer on whether or not they are considering native language when accepting students off the wait list? I don't think they did for the first 60, but I have a # in the low 60s and am wondering if I'll be passed up for a Spanish-dominant household as they move through the wait list.
