Freaking out - Brittany Norwood babysat my children not 3 weeks ago

Anonymous
I believe OP. Sounds pretty normal to me. I found babysitting jobs through other nannies.

I'm sure your nanny feels like crap right now, knowing she recommended this girl to you for babysitting.

Nanny here: Please don't judge all nannies based on this unstable person. This is awful, but she was NOT a childcare provider. How sad and scary for OP!

And to the PP who was shocked a nanny shopped at Lulu: We are well paid professionals. I wear Lulu every day.

Nanny who earns $22/wk (but does not live in DC) and shops at LuluLemon. I also own my own home... GASP!!! Not all of us are on food stamps, PP... Maybe just your nanny.

Ooops, I meant per hour, not week.

$50 for a running t-shirt? pretty expensive, but not like you are lighting cigars with Ben Franklins ....

Not Op here but seriously!? I'm sorry, but if I just found out that someone who watched my child a few weeks ago was just involved in a MAJOR murder case I too would BE FREAKED OUT YOU IDIOT!!! So really PP you would just say "humph, how weird she just babysat for us. Weird." and then you would leave it at that??? OP I too would be completely freaked out. You are not making this about you. If it happened to me I would have posted too just to vent it out of my system!

Why? Again, your kids are fine, and she's in jail. Next time don't hire sitters your nanny picked up off the street.

So you should become a nanny then, maybe you would be able to afford. Duh!

Oh yes. All nanny's are on welfare. And btw, she WORKED at Lulumelon (sounds like multiple jobs if she was also babysitting). This isn't about her affording to SHOP at Lulumelon.

No, she said her nanny recommended this woman from Lululemon. So her nanny was shopping at Lululemon.

I can't afford Lululemon.

I am sorry you can't afford Lululemon. I am a nanny, make 750/week and I can afford lululemon! I love those clothes so much and buy whenever I need or want something. I don't have a ridiculous mortgage, children to feed though, so don't assume nannies can't afford lululemon.

How much are you saving towards retirement?

Maybe you posted this comment to shock everyone? If not, please don't use babysitters when you know nothing about their background, mental condition, possible substance abuse isses, etc.

This girl's biography totally sounds normal. Not sure how someone would think she was nuts. Former college athlete now working at a yoga store. Sounds reasonable. That's what's scary - you never know.

Not trying to argue here, but I really disagree. When it comes to babysitters, nannies, etc, we need to really know their backgrounds. Just because a person (nanny or otherwise) recommends "someone she knows" from a store is just not enough knowledge. In smaller places where people tend to know more about each other, it might be different. In a place like DC where people come and go, I'd want to know much more before hiring that person to babysit.

About her illicit raiding of the fridge? Her choice of Murder, She Wrote as tv viewing?

I found this site a few days ago when I googled something else about this area. I was horrified to see the nastiness in the thread I read. And, now this. Who are you people?

I imagine they probably, like most stores, have sale/clearance items. That's the only way I shop at a lot of stores.

Like I said, who are you people? This thread is now about shopping?

OP- can you add anything interesting to this thread or has it officially devolved into a snark-fest about who can and can't afford Lululemon clothing and who is or isn't saving money for their retirements? Because I could give a rat's a $ $ about these people and whatever issues they have that make them want to get into petty pissing matches with people online.
