low for Emory? lol how do you know that when well over 30% don't even submit scores and are below the reported medians. Stop the nonsense.

Emorys median is 1510, 1470 is good for GU. Because so many submit at Emory the median is set and wont change when they go TO. Also a 1470 is lower than Emorys median when they were TR. GU is a gpa school, Emory prefers higher test scores.

<60% is “so many”? Median won’t change?

Your math ain’t mathing.

So true. That poster is like the minister of misinformation.

Georgetown has many kids. Not stats shows the exact %. But if you are “normal” and unhooked, you need very high stats.

In my kid’s application cycle, I looked at the Naviance plots. There was a green dot for Georgetown with GPA 2.7. So you know, how many high stats kid they need to raise the average.

Please please stop already. That is not the true median for Emory. Does not include the well over 30-40% that don't submit their low scores.
32% is not well over 30. Stop it. Also most of those are hooked students.

Emory will be a bit harder, higher test scores and lower acceptance rate unless you ED1 but not sure if its your first choice.

32% low scores admitted this cycle 37% low scores admitted last cycle none of which were counted in the report of the median. Give me a break.

No 32% was last cycle, this cycle isnt reported yet, it likely likely be around 25% from what I've heard thus far from admissions. And 37% was 2 years ago.

Know who you're dealing with: Emory mom. She won't stop putting down schools ranked slightly ahead of Emory. Often times she attacks WashU. Today it's Georgetown's turn. When it comes to numbers that have yet to be announced, she always assumes the best case scenario for Emory. It's like clockwork.

How would they not? 9% black, 11% Latino, 5% mixed race, then add legacy and athletes?

Are we being obtuse? Those are the biggest hooks.

Emory mom here. I have a ton of respect for Georgetown and the kids who go there. The main things they have in common are size, ranking, location in an affluent section of a large city, affiliation with a hospital, and no engineering. Nothing to lose by doing EA at Georgetown. As for Emory, ED only if it feels like a true fit over and above other potential options. For some kids, it’s important to them to feel like they have some control over their choices- don’t ED if that’s the case.

I have a student at one of these schools, but I'm not going to add to this thread if you are just looking for broad judgment to the schools listed.

+1. Did OP ever come back with a major?
