He's undecided by either business or CS. Or a mix of both for quant. |
No that's not how that works, schools only take/report the highest score for any student. Its called score choice. And you made that 15% up out of thin air. Emory had 68% of all students report test scores in 2025. The percent submitting is likely even higher this recent cycle and will be even higher than that, this upcoming cycle. |
https://www.parchment.com/c/college/tools/college-cross-admit-comparison.php?compare=Emory+University&with=Georgetown+University Most dont pick Georgetown over Emory, its fairly even. |
| A 1470 is avg for GU and a bit low for Emory, so keep that in mind. I dont see a 1470 getting into Emory ED2 or RD, ED1 has a slight chance but still a reach. |
BS |
low for Emory? lol how do you know that when well over 30% don't even submit scores and are below the reported medians. Stop the nonsense. |
Umm...that's not even. |
68% is wildly different from 100%. And athletes (D1 sports-basketball, etc are included in GU test score averages). Emory is a d3 school so they can keep those lower scores out if their averages. To have an average ACT of 34-35 l/equivalent SAT when you have 100% (every single student reporting is impressive). |
GU has one of the best placement into banking, Wall Street, IBD across the board. It’s ranked #6 Emory isn’t in any of the lists which only go up to 30 ranked. |
Emorys median is 1510, 1470 is good for GU. Because so many submit at Emory the median is set and wont change when they go TO. Also a 1470 is lower than Emorys median when they were TR. GU is a gpa school, Emory prefers higher test scores. |
Fairly even? Ie close to even? |
If you really want CS, go to a school with engineering. Georgetown does not have engineering. |
DP: Georgetown is a high target school for IB and low target school consulting. Emory is a semi-target school for both. Personally, I don't want my kid to become a finance bro, so that's not a concern for me. But I don't think it's accurate to say that Georgetown doesn't have a measureable edge over Emory for NYC business jobs. |
<60% is “so many”? Median won’t change? Your math ain’t mathing. |
Please please stop already. That is not the true median for Emory. Does not include the well over 30-40% that don't submit their low scores. |
