What can't you make because you'll eat the entire pan?

Carbonara.

No way. I can barely eat 4 bits of Carbonara, its SO rich!!! Do you crap for days?

The Italian recipe is less caloric because it adds egg yolks but not heavy cream.

PP here. Yes I make it the traditional way with egg yolk, no cream. The way I make it is fairly lightly coated and not too heavy. I don’t actually eat it all in one sitting, but I keep popping into the kitchen for leftovers with some fresh grated parm on top. My kids then ask me to make more of it. It’s actually one of the easier things to make.

Any hot dip. Spinach artichoke dip, crab dip, crack dip, buffalo chicken dip... I'll eat every bit.

Yes, dip. If I make that Lipton onion soup dip, I could easily eat it all.

The Knorr spinach dip recipe is the most delicious thing ever. I could just eat a whole bowl with a spoon. And don’t even think about telling me to sub Greek yogurt for sour cream!

Hm, I'm always a little puzzled by these reactions. Like people who can't hear the words "taco bell" without referring to their digestive problems. Have you sought medical attention? There's almost nothing that has a noticeable effect on my digestion, certainly not to the point that I need to tell strangers about it. Just lucky, maybe.

Yes. It's an old family recipe:

Crust:
2 cups of flour
2 cups of quick oats
1 cups of brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 lb of butter
1 pinch of salt

Filling:
1 lb of pitted dates (I use a little more)
1/2 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of karo syrup
3/4 cup of water
juice of one orange
I add a little orange marmalade if I'm short on oranges

Cook all date filling ingredients over low heat until dates are very soft. Stir occasionally.
While that is cooking, blend crust ingredients together. Spread half on greased 8X8 pan. Pat down firmly.
Spread filling over crumbs and gently press remainder of crumbs on top. Bake at 350 until barely brown
Watch carefully.
Cut while warm

tips: I make the two crust layers separately so the butter gets really mixed in.

Have you ever added the little pretzel balls (Snyders butter rounds)? Game changer.
