Just because there is no one better doesn't mean it was the wrong decision. but, you have lived this so I'm curious for your take. Did you originally divorce him so that you could go find someone else? Or did you divorce him because of other reasons?

Divorced due to cheating-kid was 2 years old and marriage was 8 years old. OP has a much longer marriage seems like

No, he did not want the divorce despite the fact he was cheating. He ended up marrying someone else who was not the AP
