What on earth are you talking about? Can you point to one single post on this thread that professes any hatred of Jews? Hatred of Israel and zionism is NOT the same as hatred of Jews or anti-Semitism. Provide your facts, or quit your lies. |
The F are you talking about? |
The synagogues that need police protection are because some of them engage in “The Great Israeli Real Estate Event” where they auction off land that belong to Palestinians. Naturally there are going to be protests. No one here has said anything against the Jewish religion, I’m so proud when I see Jewish people engaged in protests against Israel because they are so brave. They are called fake news or worse by their own people, now that’s antisemitic. |

Wait is OP saying Kristof's article itself is antisemitic? That is insane. So no one is allowed to say anything negative about Israel even if it is true? How does that help the cause against antisemitism in general? Or like do you just automatically assume reporting like this is wrong bc you don't want it to be right? Maybe you need to do some self reflection?
SO glad to see so many people don't agree with OP and are expressing the absolute frustration it is to see people conflate criticism of Israel with antisemitism. |
Yes. Jews are the canary in the coal mine with respect to the health of society. It’s not looking good. |
Israel is holding the world hostage currently. It most certainly isn't looking good but it's not because we are being mean to Jews. |
|
I’m with you OP.

If you're comparing being anti-Israel or anti-zionist to anti-semitism, it's clear you've already lost the argument.

No one is clicking on your dumb Facebook link. |

There has always been an undercurrent of anti-semitism in conservative circles. Those tiki torch marchers in Charlottesville didn't come out of nowhere. But I too was surprised by the depth of anti-semitism coming from progressives. So many were celebrating 10/7. Progressives were out on the streets cheering Hamas before the bodies were even in the ground.
However, there is no doubt that Israel is an awful country today. They killed roughly 85,000 mostly innocent people - women and children - in Gaza and absolutely leveled it. Israel has sent more than 700,000 fanatical ultra-orthodox colonists into the West Bank to steal land and terrorize people. Israel has invaded Lebanon and are taking everything south of the Litani River in another land grab, which has sent another 1 million Lebanese civilians fleeing in terror from the IDF - who are clearly the most unprofessional army in the world with their targeting of civilians. And Israel has instigated a stupid war with Iran, which has had major repercussions for the entire planet. It's not wrong to ask how does this tiny, strategically irrelevant country have so much sway over American foreign policy. Israel is the Jewish state. Most of planet Earth is appalled and disgusted with modern Israel and Netanyahu. Of course there is going to be blowback. Like Muslims faced after 9/11. Is it fair to a kid growing up in the 'burbs? No, obviously. But Israel, the Jewish state, made some choices. So here we are. The line between anti-semitism and protesting Israel becomes blurry. |
For real! |
No one was doing that, but I agree with the rest of the post. Did you just say that to make the rest of the criticism more credible? Strange. |
Kristoff's article is actually antisemitic. He timed his publication the day before the massive Civil Commission report on Hamas' use of s3xual violence in their October 7 attack and with the hostages. You can read about that here: https://www.cnn.com/2026/05/12/middleeast/report-sexual-violence-hamas-oct-7-attacks-intl Timing his piece to preempt this report draws a moral equivalency that minimizes the violence done to Israelis by terrorists whose stated objective is the murder of all Jews. He straight-up states that as the objective in the conclusion of his piece: "Think of it this way: The horrific abuse inflicted on Israeli women on Oct. 7 now happens to Palestinians day after day." That's Kristof saying the quiet part out loud: equivalency in order to minimize Israeli trauma and excuse Hamas' terrorism. There should absolutely be accountability in Israel's prison system, but the abuses parallel issues in the US prison system and most other prison systems around the world; it's a systemic human problem that we all need to do better to address. I hope Bibi and his far-right ministers are voted out in the next election and that some real reforms are implemented in Israel. |
85,000 dead Palestinians, most of whom were innocent civilians and children. Sorry, that's an inconvenient truth to you. |
It is inherent to the nature of tyrannical regimes that they operate on some kind of leveraged vengeance scheme. Not uncommon for it to be 3-5 orders of magnitude. "Harm 1 of ours and we will harm 10,000 of yours." |
